I will wave to any 5th gen camaro on the road since in the beginning it's going to be awesome to know that they are probably from camaro5.com since they are waving. But ya never know.

the thing is, right now I own two corvettes & 3 Camaros. Most people wave at the Corvettes Because thats the corvette wave, Most of the newer corvette owners havent been trained though, so when you wave at them they normally stick their nose up in the air at you lol.
I get alot of flashing lights (not cops) when I drive my buick or my husbands71 camaro lol. Get some waves or horn beeps when I am driving the camaros, but most people dont even bother.

Usually its a thing between less common vehicles, like i have a lowered silverado and other custom silverado drivers will acknowledge me in some way. Any way i will give a wave or thumbs up to some other 5th gen owners, mostly other SS's though

Well your nice "mostly other SS's though". I will wave to any other 5th gen. camaro's. And if other people in earlier camaro's wave to me I will wave back. But I like being part of the small croud that will own the camaro.

I only wave to other 4th gen SS's because they are less common to see and easy to spot. Usually those owners will wave back. It's too hard to tell a Z28 from a V6 on the 4th gen and most V6 drivers won't wave.
I suspect it will be the same with the 5th gen, mostly only SS drivers will wave, but it will be hard to tell the difference from a V6 on the road as they pass by. |

Lots of GTO owners wave to eachother.
I think it's more common when the cars are rarer. You don't see Vettes as much as you see Mustangs for example. You don't see GTOs as much as you see Mustangs either. I think you'll see a lot of Camaros so it won't be as common. |

Well all i ment by that is a have a feeling alot of Ls and Lt owners, not all, but a good amount will not be Camaro fans but just people who bought a cool looking car or teens with a first car or things like that but that doesn't mean some SS owners wont be that also so i will try to acknowledge any camaro driver and if one waves to me i will always wave back, if i see them do it

Quote:
The reason owners of less common cars wave at eachother is because there's more of a chance that the guy driving the other SS or whatever car is because they're more likely to be an enthusiast as they've bought the high performance model. Or in the case of the GTO, there are only 18000 or so made a year so if someone owns one it's usually because they sought one out. On the other hand, there's the Mustang. People buy them because they're the hot car to have and they don't really care anything more than that and looks, so the car means nothing to them. And generally there's no sense of community among Mustang owners. At least not that I've seen. I guess it's because there's so many that there's more rivalry than anything else. |

Also, to all you guys saying you'll wave to everyone you see always. Wait til GM reaches their 100k cars a year goal. You'll be waving every other block.
That's also part of the reason it's usually something people do in less common cars. |
