I agree that that amazing a mustang with some balls this time.. trapping 110mph..
we look at trap because trap speed can give u good idea how much power a car makes.. where as ET time is very driver and traction dependent..
what does it run base model.. 3.73 isnt base gears.. thats performance package.. wonder if 3.73 gears worth it.. car has enough power to really dig down and go.. 3.73s on stock tires might cuz it to spin alot..

Obviously the 3.73's aren't causing it to spin if it's getting 4.3 0-60's.

Also, so the fact that the Mustang and SS trap the same means that they are pretty much in the exact same league? What determines who will get the better ET if they both had the exact same 60' and both had equal runs?

EDIT: Seriously stupid tags attached to this thread. "Mustang is gay"? Grow the hell up.

No one would really know now would they?

But, your not exactly stock anymore are you? You've modified your car from how it was delivered from the factory.

Another thing that seems to be missed so many times by everyone on both sides of this rehashed argument is that, rarely, are any of the press cars getting those magazine times on an actual, prepped race track. As such, it should not be a surprise when someone takes a car than "only" runs 13 seconds in a magazine is able to put down a time that is several tenths faster when they get to a track.

For those of you who take your cars to the track, awesome. For those who don't but spend you time online versus enjoying the performance of your car, shame on you.

He once had royal purple in the rear end (funny argument...stock fluid is synthetic also). And he once had a K & N air filter in it. He ran a 12.62 I believe when he had that done. No one gave credit so he changed back and ran faster. At least he is honest.

Im not sure what hes getting at.

No I knew all about that, but I thought Garagelogic meant he has done something else now. I just wasn't sure.

I know he was also trying for the fastest tuned time as well, but I don't know if he ever switched back to stock (I assume he did).

Heres the short version of the life of my car. Ordered May 19 , received Oct. 1. At 500 miles changed to R.P. fluids. Raced it Oct. 31 with 525 miles at St.louis 4 times , and went 12.92 on a missed shift. Headed to Bowling Green Nov. 14 with R.P. and a K@N at 638 miles made 3 passes 12.68, 12.62 and 12.72. Decided to put it back completely stock early in Jan. Went to Anderson Ford in Clinton IL. Put it on the Dyno made 3 pulls the best being 380 rwhp and 383 rwtq Bone stock. Went back to Bowling Green March 6 with 1050 miles had traction issues most of the day but on the 7th pass got the record back (Bone stock) 12.58 on my 9th and 10th pass i tried my Vector tuner that my wife got me for Christmas and couldnt get the car to hook. My plans are to take the tune off when i race and keep trying to better the record. So if its still so hard to believe or not possible then i dont know what to say.
I will say that i agree with you about the press cars and the conditions there ran in. The 12.8 the Mustang ran , to me only means my 12.58 isnt fast enough to be comfortable.

But I guess that would depend on what you are trying to do with the car.

From my experience most did not change out the 3.42 in the 4th gens for 3.73's because some had done it and not felt much difference.

Either way the mustang is crossing the traps at the perfect time with the 3.73's....so it is a good choice for the car. Same for the camaro. All though a gear may help the camaro get that weight going better off of the line and be worth an extra shift at the end.
the mustang isnt trapping perfect, because its trapping in 4th, which is NOT the 1:1 gear in the 11, 5th is
