Mail order tunes in some cases received a bad Rap due to poor communication between car owner and tuner, or Shoddy workmanship that can't be tuned or
Or Every Guy that knows how to use a computer and buys software thinks he can write tunes to make a few bucks

Mail order tunes that come From Reputable shops that have the necessary expericene to write tune for packages that we have done are nothing short of amazing.

With todays technology I can remote tune cars as well as on my own dyno.

Ted.

Live remote tuning and a straight mail order are different beasts... I like to view mail order tunes that are made for anything more then a straight bolton car as a temp patch to get you to the dyno for a real tune. Every car is different and values for one don't apply to another even with the exact same mods and without being verified against a wideband you are asking for trouble.

Remote dyno tuning is something new and exciting for WOT pulls but doesn't take take into account the street and driveability tuning that needs to go into a modest Heads/Cam setup.

How can you possibly dial in a mail order tune as well as a live tune without logging air/fuel?

You can't but atleast with remote tuning the remote tuner can monitor the dyno's wideband. Still doesn't help for part throttle/street tuning being remote

A mail order tune is known as exactly that. You yank your PCM and mail it off to a tuner and he tunes it and mails it back. Data logging, and supporting lvie via the net through FTP'ing files or emailing files back and forth is by no stretch a mail order tune. Theres absolutely nothing about that process thats any different than a live person to person tune ( aside from maybe more time on the dyno waiting to hear back etc etc. ) but the quality should be identical as a live tune.

So this leaves me wondering why you sell this as a "mail order tune"? When you should be calling it a remote full tune or something as this is a FAR superior service. Why would you ever want to confuse this service with mail order tunes? Just call it something else you'll find it a lot easier to convince people as the word is out about mail order tunes that they are less than ldeal. What you guys are talking about is not a mail order tune but much much better.

There are a lot of descriptions that have multiple meanings on the Internet, I don't make them up I just go with the flow.

Guys will go online and order a tuner with a tune off my web site, I guess you can call this a mail order tune, or email tune or remote tune what ever works for you as long as we all get along.

Ted.

True enough but if I was selling steak I'd be damned if i''d let the perception out there that it was called a burger or a Big Mac. Steak is steak and fast food burgers are fast food burgers. Both are meat but one is worth a hella lot more and deserves to be identified for its value and not confused with Fast Food crap. From the LS1 days the perception of mail order tunes is looked upon as an absolute last resort or a starting point for someone wanting to tune themselves and not at all considered an ideal solution.

If you guys are providing a tuner, a starting point tune, supporting the customer by comparing A/F data feedback provided, and then dialing in the tune, and repeating until done perfectly? This is a proper tune and not a mail order tune and something that shouldn't have any confusion in this regards IMO. But Im only trying to help board members get the best for their money.

You are correct, Times have changed and Technology has evolved but the names have not.

I call mine Custom Tunes, Sold via Email and set up specifically for the parts installed on the vehicle.

The new computers are So Far Advanced compared to the LS1 computers, I hate to say it but they are more like Ford computers now and they rely more on the MAF than Previously which makes them more Email Tune Friendly.
