New to the forum and a new owner of a 2010 RS Camaro.

I have quick question on oil pressure. The PSI gauge tops-out at 70 PSI when I am accelerating (when the RPMs are up). I’m not punching it - just speeding up at a good pace. PSI goes back down to around 45/50 when at a consistent speed. The PSI is very quick to up jump-up when speed up. It is full of oil (not too low/high).

Is it normal for the PSI to top-out so quickly and often? Thanks in advance your help.

In short, yes. It's a mechanical oil pump and goes up in speed with engine speed, hence the higher pressure at higher RPM.
