The Oyster White did not stand up well in my L82 4 gear. And the gray carpets kind of yellowed over the years, so that is why I wanted the black carpets with the Beige in the CAMARO.

Hello,

Had my leather appointed seats swapped out for Katzkin full leather; don't hear any noises when I am in vehicle and I am not a small guy. Love the seats but didn't hate the orginal SS2 leather, just wanted the color to match better.

Thanks,

One of the things I really liked about my 2005 GTO. The seats front and back were entirely covered in leather. None of this cheap way GM and others do of putting vinyl and leather together. But of course the GTO's were actually an Austrailian Monero. That car had the most beautiful (blue leather) and well built interior of any automobile I've ever owned.

Most cars are this way if you look close enough. Had an argument about a BMW I had...I lost-lots of vinyl and cloth mixed in.

The cloth on the seats does cut down on "noises" you would have. The rest is cost savings and all the companies do it...even ones you would think would not.

When black or dark leather "cracks" it looks " aged " but the dark cracks in Oyster looked shabby. Even the steering wheels looked older than they were.

The Mustang has that too, I have just always thought it was because every time you sit it rubs on the plastic console and it would hurt leather.

All OEM leather seats are like that. Only the backs and bottoms for butts are leather, the rest is vinyl.

My old car ('95 Camaro) had the "leather" seats. The sides by the consol were "leather" as well. This would rub and make a clicking kind of noise at times as the leather moved around on the plastic of the consol.

My '06 Magnum has leather seats too and the sides by the consol are a soft fabric.

Nope, it's cheapness. It would cost a lot more money to use real leather everywhere. Check out a Mercedes-Benz, they use real leather. When I got my 98 Z-28 with the "leather", I was very pissed off when I found all of the vinyl. I vowed never again and my 02 SS factory order had cloth and I now have a 1SS. The leather surfaces on the driver's seat of my Z-28 looked like crap after 28,000 miles, the cloth in my 02SS looked fine at 60,000 miles.

Leather seats

My dad owns a leather business and the answer is any part that has contact with the body is typically leather. We mainly do airline seats but we also do custom/crazy stuff for insane people. I am planning on doing some custom/color this winter. If anyone want top of the line airline grade leather or cleaners let me know
