yes, but there have been gens that had a time lapse without a Z28. just like now, I doubt we'll see a Z28 for a couple years now. it'll be like the 4th gens, bang for the buck v-6, and a powerhouse bang for the buck v-8, then a few years down the road, a top dog will make an appearance.

see my doomsday thread....

The only 2 things I heard from Scott and Cheryl was
Scott: "I can't talk about future products..."
Cheryl: "There will not be a Z28 in 2010..."

To me that says, something is in the works and 2010 definatly no Z, but whos to say what the future years hold.

That was also before the auto industry meltdown

That's what I remember seeing too. If/when the industry turns around, I could forsee something in a few years to follow, but I think it depends on how far along in development Z28 was in before things turned around. I remember reading somewhere that Z28 isn't what it was originally going to be but there was no indication what it was so we're back to square one.

I just hope for a rapid recovery for GM and get to back on track with making the best vehicles they've made in years. COME ON GM!!!

It makes sense when given the history of a low-displacement, race-tuned performance car. A twin-turbo V6 or I6 would be a great Z28.
