My take on this for what it's worth

JrHaus, from reading everyone's posts multiple times, I don't believe DE is going to IPS because she didn't think you were not capable of doing the mods to her car. It's a question of not imposing herself on you or anyone else in the SW Camaro Group, especially when you are already busy restoring your car. Now if you offered to do the mods and she declined and then went to IPS, then maybe you have the right to feel dissed. But for her to assume that from the last SW Camaro Mod Day on, she can bring her car to you or anyone else in our group, for every little thing she wants done, would be rude which is what she was trying to convey in her posts. I think you saw it as a diss to your abilities. Which is where the misunderstanding lies. I truly believe she was trying to be courteous and respectful and she got put down for it. Now I could be wrong about this. It wouldn't be the first time.

And I will add the ISPJeff's comments about the numerous times he and other owners who have had customers bring in cars they tried to work on was not directed at you but at DE. In other words, he has seen countless examples of people like DE, who have little or no experience working on cars, try to do the work themselves, only to have their cars fixed at a professional shop. You took it as a diss to your abilities which was not the intention. Again, if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will point it out...

DarthEmma seems like a great gal and JrHaus, you a great guy. I just hate to see any hard feelings over misunderstandings.

I know and I am not trying to diss DE at all. I HAVE offered several times and I know she feels like she's imposing but really she isnt. Its her money if she wants to take her car there, I am cool with it. She has become part of our Camaro family and she seems to LOVE her car and modding it and I could tell when she was at mod day she LOVED getting to work on it. I was only pushing her as a way to get her more involved in HER car for HER but if she isnt comfortable with it.. so be it. I am not doing it for me, I get nothing out of doing free mods but most of the mods I have done for others were for people I conside friends and that I talk to on a semi regular basis, not only on here. I just figured she WANT to learn... maybe I am wrong. My wife is the same way. Afraid to ask for anything, always feels like she putting people out. I am the polar opposite, I will ask for anything and ALWAYS say whats on my mind, RIGHT OR WRONG!

Take care everyone and see you tomorrow!!!

Tell Darin not to get there TOO early, unless he has a key to open the door. Drew and I are getting there about 8:30 to help set up. If you show up before 9:00 you may get put to work!

"I am the polar opposite, I will ask for anything and ALWAYS say what's on my mind, RIGHT OR WRONG!": I noticed!!! LOL! In all seriousness, I can't speak for DE and the reasons for her decisions. But I can say that I'm a lot like your wife. I am afraid of putting people out. For instance, I'm very considerate of my neighbor's right to live beside me in peace which I why I keep my daughters in our front yard and their yelling down to a minimum and I make sure our cars are parked evenly as to not take up more than one space, which I can't say that our neighbors do the same. They can't park between the lines at all which annoys me to no end!

Also, I don't think it's a matter of wanting to learn how to do mods, it's a matter of convenience to pay someone to do it. Look at it this way: How many people order out or go to restaurants to eat instead of taking the time to cook in their own kitchens? Just about everyone because it's so much more convenient to have someone else prepare your food BUT it's more expensive too. Even though I find great satisfaction in cooking it myself, I don't expect everyone else to feel the same way because not everyone enjoys cooking, has the time to do it, nor do they want to learn how. I have several cookbooks that I used on a daily basis. I make homemade breads, desserts and complicated meals (French and Italian cooking are my favorites). But, there are days where I don't feel like cooking because it's time consuming and I'm tired. So I pay someone else to do it for me, whether it's pizza, Chinese takeout, or McDonalds. I believe the same is for cars. Many would love to learn how to do their own mods, change their own oil, etc. but there are physical, educational, equipment, and time issues that keeps people from doing it themselves. So Thank goodness for restaurants and engine/body shops!

I told Darin that he would probably beat Qwkss there if he got there at 8:00. I don't think he cares! lol.... I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping in setting up.

I'm off to wash the car. Should be fun with two girls to keep an eye on as well.

Is anyone going to K-Mart tonight? I think we are going. The sun is starting to come out and even though there is a chance of rain around noon, it looks like sun the rest of the afternoon.

I know where you are coming from. Just the Mod days we had, you/and the crew, made me feel more comfortable attempting things myself, something I would have never done before. I know my limitations, and greatly appreciated all the work done by everyone. I just wish it was more of "my" specialty. But I know I'm a computer nerd, but want to keep learning.

DE is a wonderful person, and I don't think she took it bad in any way. She is just doing so much to that car.... wow, and it looks amazing. I can't wait to see the newest stuff on that car.. whoo hoo!!

Assuming I can find the time if I drive down in our 2011 Mustang GT am I going to get the car keyed and egged and TP'd while I am there?

Ill give away free rides or lose to your Camaro by 10+ cars on video if that makes it better

I have a whole bunch of Toyota emblems we'll stick all over it. When you come out, you'll be the only car there that has "TACOMA" on the side of it.

or I'll flip it.

I can vouch that that car is clean because I saw you washing it! (and the girls standing there watching, looking like they were being very good!) I'm sure you didn't notice me - I was in the passenger seat of my coworker's Toyota Camry. I always look at other Camaros to see if it's someone I know.

I would like to come to KMart tonight, especially since I just got a new exhaust too. Not sure because I have a lot to do around home. If I do come, it will be 6:30-ish, because I can't take off work early and I need to do the same thing I saw Prostock69 doing.

Hmm, tempting, radar looks clear, but forecast says a thunderstorm at 4 PM. Not like it hasn't been wet before. If I don't get scheduled to be elsewhere tonight, I'll stop by. Love the sound of those cams.

I've really enjoyed being a member of this Ohio Camaro group. Everyone has been so nice without berating the V6'ers, the automatics, the noobs, or those who don't yet have a Camaro. You are some of the nicest folks I've ever met. Can we all have a group hug now? I love you guys!
You said a lot, I'll say a little. I only pushed you to "let" me work on your car b/c I figured YOU would want to learn. If I didn't want to, didn't have time, or didn't think you'd enjoy it, I wouldn't have offered. You have a SWEET car, seem to love it and are take great pride in it. All is good..

<<HUGS EMMA>>

See you tomorrow? I have to leave about 1:30/2:00. I SWORE I would go with my wife to Blake's birthday party but we are coming back for dinner about 6:30/7:00... I am sure Dyno Day will still be in full swing! She's not coming in the morning, she is going to vacinate cattle with her parents in KY... I 'ed!
