Difference in levels of cams
So there are three levels of cams for the camaro but they are all the same price. What's the difference?

Their all names that companies make up.
They all come from the same source. Pick a cam based on your wants with the car and goals, not a fancy name. |

the difference is how much fun your car will be. The higher the stage number, the more fun your car is. You decide on the fun limit on your car.

Look at the specs not the names. A cam has to work well with your setup. One cam that might work well with one engine might not work as well with another. |

how do you figure? valve springs cost about the same. tune costs the same. pushrods cost the same. cam shaft costs the same. and it's really hard to fit a cam big enough to max out the stock fuel system/injectors on a stock ls3... so you won't need injectors. and you can't fit a big enough cam into a stock ls3 to justify going to a solid roller.

you sound like your trying to drown me in all these fancy words. He is going to have to put in new valve springs if he does anyhthing more than a mild cam. And if he gets a big cam his power band will be all screwed up. He might make more power but at different rpm's. He is a teenage kid like me. Cams sound sick. I want one but i doubt he wants to send big money. Get a turbo.

the words aren't fancy. Just common used words when referring to cam specs.
Any camshaft, if bigger than stock, will require new valve springs. even mild ones. a full cam swap costs about $1,000 in parts... regardless of size, as long as it's on a stock bottom end motor. That's to include camshaft, valve springs, pushrods, and tune. A turbo is going to run you over $7,000. How is doing a cam swap referred to as "spending big money" and then you tell him to go turbo? Might I suggest reading the cam sticky and maybe learning about cam shafts a little more?

I agree 100% if someone names there camshafts in levels you should probably run! We engine dyno develop all of our camshafts looking to make power in specific areas & work hard to produce tons of data that we can use to help the customer meet his/her goals.
