I have posted a few pictures from Palm Springs in a new thread.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...776#post225776

I was reluctant to add to Heather's post here, but I was just so excited about the car myself I thought I'd add some comments when I discovered her journal.

So how many other people read through 16 pages of this looking for the pictures of Heather at the beach?

This is all great info! I was skeptical about the cloth interior at first, but the pictures look amazing! I think when it's time to invest in a Camaro, I will be plenty happy with a 1SS.

Someone get down to the dealership and take a crap load of pictures!

Sugar and water in your gas.... talkin the big bucks to fix your engine. no thanks. steal my wheels and key my car, but stay the hell out of my gas tank.
perfect example: when i was in highschool, all the seniors cars in the lot had tires slashed and sugar put in tanks, thanks for my locking gas cap, i just get a lovely key treatment. I spent 2k replacing my racing tires and painting, but much better than losing my big block (or facing expensive repairs).
Im just saying, this is the big 2000's, we shouldnt even be using gas anymore, but since we are, LOCK IT UP. We spent a lot of money on our car. we want it LOCKED. everywhere. my damn 02 mazda 6 locked. lets go chevy.
Sugar in your tank (or water for that matter) won't ruin your engine. I'd much rather someone do that and spend a few hundred bucks (or do it myself for next to nothing) emptying out the gas tank and fuel filter than getting entire body panels repainted or buying new wheels.

All that said, a locking gas cap would be nice but it's just not nearly as big of a deal (to me at least) as many of you think.

Good research. Still, water or putting diesel in the tank is just no bein. and theres no way the sugar is any good either, ruin your engine or not. I can, however, understand your camparison to keying and the like now. But still, a simple locking mechanism can potentially save you hundreds of dollars. Why not?

I started driving in "57 and always had snow tires on the rear. Back then we bought "recaps". As long as you have good tread on the ront you should be fine with snow tires on the rear.
HOWEVER!!!!!! The 20" SUMMER tires may be a whole different ballgame than having "All Season" on the front.

Well, I am sure back in the "OLD" days, I was always told SUGAR would ruin an engine?????

Agreed that 20" SUMMER tires will/would be a whole new ballgame IMO. I just turned in an 04 GTO (on a Smartbuy) that I did run through the winter the same as I ran through the summer- on all-seasons. That being said, I did put extra weight in the trunk and paid attention to the fact I had a 350HP rear-wheel drive car to contend with in the Buffalo,NY winters. She was sideways a couple times during her career...

Looking at the 20" x nearly 11" wide tires on the back of the Camaro, I have one thing to say. NOT. Bought an 02 Impala with 61k on her for a winter car. The Camaro goes into hibernation for the winter.

Thumbs up I just go

back from visit to Heather SS!! Really, Really nice car. I even got video of engine running (Just need to figure out how to post)

I'v posted pic's here. (hope it works): http://www.photoworks.com/members/sl...35&id=53515461 Play in Full Screen mode

We were greatly impressed with the car. Interior is nice and car is SOLID!and cloth seats are nice
I did notice that if you are a 6 footer you might find your head hitting the roof in the back seat, BUT I was able to adjust myself so that my head cleared. There was also enough room in the rear seat for knee space and the seating area is much better then the 4th Gen (like Night and Day). I had my brother-in-law sit in the front and adjust seat to his liking and I felt comfortable in the rear. Enterance into the rear is fairly easy! The pass side is not powered and may actually be quicker! There is a nice lever on the rear of the seat near the headrest area that lifts easily and the seat back goes forward. The driver side it the same but takes a bit longer while you wait for the power seat to move forward. Wife will still need to give her sanction, but I feel a lott better now that I have sat in the seat.
I'm going to search you tube to see if I can get teh vid posted.

We met two other guys while there and they took a vid also and are going to see if they can get it posted.
