ok here we go

stock camaro ls3 with stock 4.00 pulley on whipple installed NO cam, headers, cai ALL STOCK

(IAT) DIDNT GO OVER 104 WHILE DOING RUNS

RWHP 516 AT 6000 RPM WE HAD SHUT IT DOWN AT 6000 AND IT WAS STILL GOING UP
AND ARE DYNO IS OFF BY 30 TO 35 HP SO AT 6000 WE ARE RIGHT AT 550 RWHP AND 478 TORQ WITH A MAX OF 9PSI BOOST

WE WILL BE ADDING HEADERS & CATS AND I THINK WE WILL GET UP TO 575 RWHP

THEN WE WILL BE ADDING A CAM AND HOPE TO GET OVER 600 BUT WE WILL SEE

HOW DO WE KNOW DYNO IS OFF BECAUSE TIME AFTER TIME WE HAVE DYNOED A CAR AND TOOK TO ANOTHER DYNO TO CHECK AND WE ARE ALL WAYS OFF BY THAT MUCH NO MATTER WHOS DYNO WE TAKE IT TO
While your dyno may be "off", it would paint a really nice picture to see what this car's baseline was on your dyno for a good comparison. I for one am more interested in gain and not necessarily the absolute top end numbers because we all know dynos can vary. Did you guys happen to baseline the car, or do you at least have a sheet that is very representative of what the average Stock LS3 puts down on your dyno?

Thanks in advance and congratulations on the install, anyway the numbers play out it looks like it is definitely the start of a great build and that torque curve is very nice. Could you possibly post up the sheet for a Maggie on an otherwise totally stock LS3 for comparison as well. It seems the whipple builds a little more linearly than the maggie but doesn't fall off as s them at the top end. It is almost a hybrid of a centri and maggie curve and one that now has me seriously considering the Whipple. Now I just have to wait to see if there is enpough uptake for Roto-Fab to devlop the tube to mate up with their CAI that I already have on the car.

I was there for the tuning and dyno runs. Hey, my L99 when stock only pulled 303 and 305 rwhp on that dyno (w/ powerflow axle back).

Strong LS3 Camaro’s can pull 340-345 on it however.
Link below is my run on that dyno, (at that point, a recent LS3 had pulled 343)

The owner bought this dyno, not to get the highest numbers, but because the Superflows load the car more representative of what real world would be like, and therefore it’s makes a much better tuning platform. From what I’ve been told, all the Superflows read on the conservative side. Ted Jannetty who runs a superflow said, “ this one is just down right stingy and has no expaination for it”

So from a bystander’s point of view, this is what I got out of the session:

One:
Representative baseline = 340-345rwhp
Run with only Whipple and a tune =516rwhp
Result = 49.6%-51.8% (so lets just say 50%, most manufactures claim 35%-40%)

Two:
IATs were in the high 90s, where as typical maggies are 130-140

Three:
Dyno operator overlaid several dyno runs of other camaros from their database
No stock supercharged car had done better.
They had one LS3 Maggie with CAI and Longtube headers that was close. The Whipple was still better on top, but the Maggie breathing better with longtubes was a bit better in the midrange.
Note: they were not able to dial in the optimum amount of timing, and they kept it in a safe zone.

Everyone was impressed. Miller Time

Thanks for the write up on the dyno. I knew that there where slight variances in the output data. I just didn't know that there were different set ups from the company. It's funny that some people will swear by a dyno number, when the machine was intended to be used for calibration to ensuring that a vehicle is tuned for optimal engine use.
