Haha, just a little too far of a drive! yep, just waiting patiently for the tune. Dyno tuning shops are few and far between in NC and only go to one guy. I don't have a power cal cable, but should be able to get it tuned right with the HP tuner on the dyno. But I'll check with my dyno guy and maybe you could send the calibration to him. Main thing is I want to change the idle parameters to idle up a little higher. it's only idling around 500-600 rpms right now.

but i'm really happy with it so far and have gotten quite a bit of looks and questions on it, especially at stop lights!

Congrats!

Almost the same camshaft I am running with my LS3 head conversion on my LS2, lobes are the same, I have more advance ground in.

I love it, sounds awesome and makes good power.

Dyno graphs through an automatic... locked converter vs unlocked. It would have made a few more HP on the locked runs but the converter was letting go up top. Your numbers should be higher due to the 6 speed and the extra cubes

This is idling at 750rpm through a magnaflow catback... I hate the way it sounds at idle through the magnaflow, I am swapping it out to a Corsa sport next month to solve this problem

NICE! I actually like the way yours sounds. You know I have the Magnaflow catback too, but my sound difference may be due to the hiflow cats, which really changed the sound of the exhaust. That's impressive numbers too. Yeah, it would be great if I could gain a little more than that!

I like your idle speed more, and will probably adjust mine to about 850 rpm. It's just too low right now.

Off the subject, I met a guy the other day that just moved from CA and had a car almost like yours, blacked out GTO with a nice exhaust system but it was the one with the hood scoops and the 6.0. I told him all about the website and to check it out, that there were GTO, T/A , Vette, and other owners and car enthusiasts. He heard my car coming through the parking lot at the grocery store and as soon as I got out he said "ok now, what size cam you got in there?" and i said to my fiance, "see Holly, he knows what's up!"

congrats! You simply can't go wrong with that cam and Vector. I'm hoping to get mine back early next year (after the MI. thaw) to Vector for the maggie install.

I just finished putting that same cam in mine yesterday! WOW! I already had a tune for the intake and headers, but this cam really woke it up. I get retuned next Saturday as well. Ill try and get some video and pics up.

hey, thanks. Really for a number of reasons:

1) RWHP and RWTQ numbers were neglible for DT shorties for the LS3 application, actually were slightly higher than long tubes for torque.
2) Not planning on supercharging
3) Long tube clearance issues. My car is lowered and a number of people have complained of scraping the headers
4) cost--shorties were several hundred less
5) ceramic-coated polished, so won't rust
6) look great and sound great
7) will have plenty of HP without them

I hope to be in the 450-460 RWHP range when tuned.

NICE! enjoy it. What a difference in power and sound right? How does it idle? I finally hope to get back on the dyno this saturday to raise the idle speed, adjust some a/f if needed and see what the timing and torque management looks like.

have fun! you should put down some nice numbers on the dyno.
