Well, he is in a Mustang car show. The audience jeers are to be expected at meer mention of GM. I can see now why all of you guys HATE and want to boycott Saleen products after a stunt like this.. I would also like to point out that he did make a mistake in that the Saleen Camaro in Transformers was a 400HP Pontiac GTO body and engine and not a V6. That camaro in the movie is still faster than the current Mustang GT..

He was playing to the mustang crowd with the "mistake". Either he's to ignorant to even know what the hell he was doing on Bumblebee, or he was lying to make the mustang-enthusiast audience happy.

Either way, he burned bridges and is now acting like the river is easily crossed...

Yeah, it is very dumb to alienate an entire group of enthusiasts over another.. I guess he felt that with the demise of the Camaro and Firebird, he could kick GM where it hurts while they were and still are down because the Mustang is where his main core audience and business lies.. Now that the Camaro has the potential to be even more popular than the Mustang for at least 4 years, he wants to go where the money is, especially in todays economy, he can't afford to have only one car company on his side..

Well it's kinda obvious that he would be a bit hostile towards GM as his car was set to be the hero, then the big guys come in and throw down quite a bit of money to have all the heroes be their brand; H2, Solstice GXP, Camaro... then the movie company turns around and asks him to build the very car that stole his limelight. I'd probably be pissed too. So to add insult to injury, (and GM will go for it, because it'll help them out too) he'll build a Saleen Camaro, he'll make money off of it, it'll boost the Base and SS sales as most people won't want to drop as much or quite a bit more for the Saleen as an LS7 or Z28. In the end everyone wins. He'll get some sales from those who will love his cars, as there will undoubtedly be many, GM gets free advo, "Saleen, the 'stang tuners, are making our car too." And overall, we, the consumers get more choices. So while it may not be your cup of tea, it's for the best IMO.

And Michael Bay says that he looked for ideas and the camaro caught his eye for BB, he never made any mention of a Mustang even being considered. Rumor mill != truth...

I'm sure more than a few people will be upset by GM's "betrayal". I'll be getting my 2SS/RS vert anyways, but think about this for a second.

Having just met you, if someone came up and punched you in the face or pissed on your leg/in your gas tank, etc., would you do business with them afterwards?

Besides the buyer's pocket?
No. But I'm really not looking forward to them. Even if they look semi-decent.

Well after they just saved my dog from a burning house (bit of a stretch i know, i've been up for 30hrs, bear with me), i 'd be a bit put off but not completely against further business deals with them. Saleen didn't have to do the movie camaro, i mean i'm sure gm could've had a couple out in time, but weather he volunteered or was asked to, he made it for them, and that gave it more exposure than just about anything till that point. I'd seen the concept before then, but seeing a working model in that movie is what man me a fanatic. So i thank Saleen even though i dislike just about all their cars. While it's very, very sh*tty of him to say that, look at where he was, and who he was talking to. He could've be more gracious, but hell, people are people. Life goes on.
