Jet Performance MASS Air Flow Sensor.

I need some good advice. A friend of mine here on Camaro5 told me about this product. Swears up and down that its the BEST thing since sliced bread. He said you can feel the throttle response and defintely more Horsepower. I remain very sceptacle. Has anyone tried this Mass Air Flow Sensor?? I got to admit it sounds great. But don't want to waste a $135.00 if it turns out to good to be true. He says, it feels like you have added nitrous to the car!!! Heres the link.....http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JET-69126/All/
Let me know, any info will be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't waste my money or my time. In all seriousness... by installing this on your car you are confusing the computer to believe that the incoming air into your throttle body is colder than it actually is. You end up throwing timing which may give you the feel of more power over the short term. However, long term this unusual change in timing and fuel/air mixture can cause fouling of cylinders, plugs, and potential fouling of emissions equipment. Use your money how you wish...but its how those eBay scam artist that claim to give you 40hp just by splicing thier "chip" into your IAT sensor get your money. This is just the same thing in a prettier package.

Cool

Would adding this chip be the same as relocating the iat sensor to a area that has incoming cold air? Like has been mentioned in other posts on here? Did i word that alright?

Well, if this sensor just basically fools your computer into thinking temps are lower than they really are, then I guess if you dynoed on a hot day without it, and then dynoed with it....then wouldn't you get what looks to be a gain? I mean, it would basically be like an IAT relocation...which really doesn't add power. Just helps car run to its potential.

So really, even if he does post a dyno sheet showing gains, I'm not sure I'd be convinced.

I think SOOCH was lauging at the fact that the guy said it felt like adding nitrous, not at using nitrous.

....but I could be wrong!
