Getting much much closer. You can ALMOST smell the new car smell. Maybe I will go to the Chevy dealer today and climb in a new Camaro just so I can use the old "Smellevision" HA HA

Hey Summit... that is almost close enough for a road trip! The railyard for Orange Krate's train destination is purportedly Fontana, CA. That's real close to 100 miles from my house. TEMPTING TEMPTING!!!! One of co-workers has a friend that is a supervisor at that particular train yard!!! Hmmmmm... Maybe a recon with intel photos???

FINGERS CROSSED! It is getting colder by the minute. That baby needs shelter and love! Feed it and put it to bed.

My first drive...long post...you've been warned..don't flame me for it later..LOL

I want to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving, and tell you how I spent my holiday. I picked up my car Wednesday afternoon and brought it home, then went to work in my girlfriend's Honda Civic. Thursday, we went for a short drive after I activated Onstar, so they could show me the Directions/Connections thing. Showed off the car to the skeleton staff at work, then drove into town to try and get comfortable driving it in traffic. I've been driving my gf's Civic for over a year, so shifting is, as you might imagine, significantly different. She suggested we drive west out the 299, a road we'd never been on being recent transplants to this area, so we did. You can Google map it of you like..lots of "S" turns and near 180s through the mountains..very cool. We went about 120 miles round trip, mostly after dark...deer and traffic. Turned around just past Weaverville and came home. The gf complained a few times about how I should slow down, as I was throwing her into the middle of the car and against the door, but, overall, she seemed excited. On the way back, she was quieter than usual, so I finally asked her if she was OK. Her response "My palms are sweating!" I apologized for making her nervous, but I wanted to check my limitations as well as the car's. She replied "I'm not nervous, this is exhilarating! It's like a roller coaster. My car could never do this. I can't believe how exciting this is! What an awesome car! You scared me once or twice, but now it's just great!" I just laughed, and realized that I hadn't yet quit smiling since we first headed out of Redding. Every time I figured out something new on the radio, or the DIC, or any new feature, I just said "What a GREAT f***ing car!" Anyway, she's in the garage now, which I spent Friday cleaning out for her, and the gf is, surprisingly...more excited every time I open the garage door than I am. I'm 57, by the way, and she's 47..fun for an old guy. Anyway, that was my holiday...hope you all had a good day, too!

Car should look something like this (below) when it is done. Thanks to original poster of pix... I don't know whose car this is but it is darn SWEET!

I love the ghost strips, very old school!!
I should have waited and had mine painted too.
Maybe down the road.
We got our first dusting of snow lastnight
Moved my 36 Chevy to one of my sons garage yesterday so I will have to work on Car-Mine this winter.
Doint have a car yet but have box's of mods waiting for it.
I think the wife is getting upset that I ordered mods before Christmas because I dont have a list for her or my sons.
By the way I was in the first Advance EMT class in Ohio back in the 70's.
Been out of it for a few years now.

There is life AFTER EMS! That is one of the reasons I bought this car. We are going to have a long relationship even after I retire.

Hope everyone had a happy holiday! Well I couldn't take it anymore. 300 miles is enough of a break in. Headers and exhaust are now on and just waitin on balancer to show up to do cam swap. Let me just say it sounds evil now!

I just ordered an exhaust system with headers. I do not even have my car yet.
I am not sure how long I can wait until I install everything.
