I can buy a silver 2011 2LT/RS w/sunroof for $27,673. This car is brand new but was used as a display model recently at an auto show. I have a copy of the invoice, and GM has discounted the car (MSRP and every option) to the dealer. I can buy it for $250 over their invoice cost, which comes to $28,673. With my $1000 GM loyalty bonus for trading in a Pontiac, that brings it to $27,673. MSRP is $31,810. The dealer doesn't have the car yet. They're waiting on gate passes from Chevrolet so they can pick it up, so I haven't seen it yet. What do you think?

got my 1 SS for about the same price. like 32k out the door. lot of rebates and things to look into. there are ways around some of the requirements for the rebates. plus dealer invoice is not dealer invoice..

Double check on being able to use the loyalty bonus. That applies to new cars and in my experience the auto show cars are sold as used, so new car incentives do not apply.

That sounds like a deal considering a local "Ford" dealer here in California has a silver 2LT non RS, no sunroof a/t w/8k miles on their lot for $28k. They added some aftermarket 18"s to it recently to try and get it sold but not even the flies stop by for a look.

Thanks for the replies and opinions. I specifically asked the dealer if the loyalty bonus would apply since the car is not considered brand new, and he said yes, if my name is on the GM customer list. I think the public loyalty promotion may have ended in July, but there is still apparently a private offer going from GM. See the first post in this thread from Becky@Rodgers Chevrolet. She is a salesperson and should know:

The loyalty bonus comes and goes so I am sure you have it. Just get a second opinion before you invest a lot of time in going to the dealer in case they find out they are wrong while you are waiting to het your keys.
