Mail order HPTunes?

I am planning on buying HPTuners Pro in the near future. I have no experience at all with any type of tuning but I am quick to learn and have some common sense

I wanted to go with SCT but I feel that it leaves some room on the table for improvement even with a custom tune from what I've read. Also I will get more value for my money because I have a '03 Denali that I can have tuned as well.

I have the LS3 with M6 and so far my current mods are ARH LT headers w/3" cats and x-pipe, borla s-type axle back and a New ERA OTR intake. In the future I may plan on installing a cam....maybe the G6X3.

I have a LC-1 installed, so logging AFR won't be a problem and I know there might be some data logging required to get it right.

Does anybody know a good tuner that I could have tune my car?

The reason I'm buying is because here in Cayman there is nobody has it or does any tuning. And like I said I'm not waisting my money on SCT, because with the same system I can tune my Denali. I also said I am quick to learn, so I do plan on doing it myself in the future and I might do the online course. I'd rather have someone help me out the first time before I fk something up.

It's definitely not... If you have your own software, your car can be completely remotely tuned and the insight to the process is what many need to continue on their own.

Through email, I provide a base tune, cfg files to setup the scanner for your particular vehicle/application, instructions on how to get the software setup, instructions on how to log, and you get updates through email based on data logs that you make. 6 months from now when you make more mods, we just jump in and touch it up.

The scanner portion of the software is an invaluable troubleshooting tool. You will quickly wonder how you lived without it.

Uhhhh some companies will send you a pcm, provided you just give them your vin.

Then you send them your old pcm as a core

Saves you $500 for buying hp tuners

you just have to spend a couple hundred bucks for the core charge, which you get refunded back

There is no doubt that it's great software.... I use it on mine. But if someone is looking for a "plug and play" kind of thing and also doesn't have someone watching over them..... it's really easy to mess something up.

That makes no sense if you plan to do any data logging and tweaking. Not all cars react the same to a tune. And if I add more upgrades to my car which I plan on installing a cam, that means I would have to send my PCM off again. By time I add all that up it makes more sense to buy HPT

And like I said before I am going to take classes on how to tune!

either Frost or myself can remotely tune your vehicle, alot of us Hptuners tuners do it, with great success.... i personally like to send you the scanner Configs that i want you to log with and with that i can get a great tune

Great way to go - this is also the conclusion I have come to. Another added bonus to this approach is that you own 'your tune' - stock plus any/all new versions. No PCM 'lock-out' by the tuner and no 'holding onto' your stock tune by the tuner.

Don't get me wrong guys - I trust a 'good tuner' - but the result of what I paid for should be all mine to keep and have in hand.

Never know when you may want to change tuners - as with trial and error - some are better than others.
