2011 V6 Camaro Oil Filter... WTF?

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=HP-7003

The V8 oil filter is your usual canister oil filter. The V6 is this "air filter" like filter. How is the filter changed on a V6? Does it fit into a fixed canister built into the engine? Just curious.

It's on top in a canister, yes.

The filter is a cartridge type filter the goes into a housing on the motor.
It is very easy to change and in my opinion much less messy.

Thanks catman for the picture and location. I plan to do my own oil changes with dexos 1 synthetic oil, a good oil filter. Looking for ramps, a chock block and oil pan this weekend. For 6 qt, and filter, it's getting expensive to have a dealer or oil shops change it. Figure I'm going to learn.

Got a new 2LS coming in today, accept tomorrow.

your welcome. I do all my own oil changes for my Camaro. I built my own ramps, I have a floor jack and stands too. But the oil on sale, got 5 stock filters from ebay.

There is a good thread on here that shows how to do the oil change, so a search for it.

One questions are you getting a LS or 2LT. Your note is confusing.
