lol, what a story. Too bad black cars don't get the same response to yellow HAHA. THanks for sharing!

Good thing the kid didn't want to see his dad write you a ticket for his birthday. LOL Great story. And thumbs down to the civil rights fool. Give the cop a break, he just might give you one sometime.

Uhhh he DID do it on his owner personal Time in his own personal car... Some area's give extra money to officers to purchase their own vehicle and use it for personal and work use.

A lot of police officers drive there cars home. I'm guessing this gentleman does just that and as he put it he just picked up his Son and was heading home when they saw me pull onto the highway.
Was it right he pulled me over being off duty NO however it was all in good humor before he even got to the window he was explaining telling me to be easy and not feel upset.
Yeah someone in my position could have been a jerk however I dont know who could honestly be a jerk when you have a little kid with glowing Eyes looking at the car like he just opened it on XMAS morning.

Hell im 29 years old and the day I took delivery I had that look in my eye and still do everyday I walk out and see it in the Garage.

its moments like this if I worked for GM and built these cars it would make me smile knowing some kid will probably grow up wanting a camaro remembering that one that when he first saw one.

That was me years ago.

Great story, and thanks for being a good steward of the Camaro line... I'm sure the police officer is a professional, but maybe due to your reaction and sharing, he will remember and pay it forward to some other Camaro owner/driver...I've given a police officers son a ride in my car, and when I looked at him to see if his son would enjoy a "wild ride," he laughed and said go for it...We left over a hundred feet of parallel stripes he pointed out to friends for weeks....

Dude. You should have run off with his kid. LMAO

As he chased you you could have asked the kid if he thought daddy should write Jakyl a ticket.

I got pulled over by the county when I first got my car just to look at it but we knew each other. lol Coincidentaly his name is Jonathan too.

Because of your kindness, I'd like to think the cop will probably be kind in some way and may let a few Camaros off with just a warning some day. Way to be cool!

awesome story, I agree the cop probably broke protocall but it was his kids birthday and it seems no harm no foul. people need to lighten up.... maybe next time this cop sees you speeding in your camaro he will remember this and go light on you.

Don't worry I'll wait...

If a cop pulls me over he better mean business. And by business he better have a good reason, i.e. me doing something wrong.

You can't just pull over people because you "feel" like it.
HHHMMM.....Lets see whats wrong here. First off, AWSOME story, I would have done the same thing. Nothing beats the look kids give you in instances like this. Second, even off duty cops can pull you over, they still have jurisdiction. Third, as far as "good reason" they just need reasonable suspicion, in normal cases, you don't HAVE to be doing something wrong, you could match a description, person or car and that gives them enough of a "good reason" to pull someone over. Please GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE!!!

Don't worry I'll wait...

"Suspicion" isn't enough and will not hold up in court. Its against the law! Not sure what "high horse" I'm on, better than the low one you must be on though to be unaware of your rights.
