I wish I could, but I have school and work. And I definitely would not want to run it long hard hours the day it arrives...

Okay this is so tempting. Damn it, I hate having to miss out on something like this. I have to wait to order, as well, as I haven't accumulated enough funds. :'(

With any luck, by the time you're ready, deals can be had anywhere. On the other hand, I hate to see someone miss out until after October because all the dealers' initial allocations are full. |

trm0002,
Thanks for the great info, I'm sure Basil will be getting many phone calls now to place orders. Do you know what his deposit requirement are, and if it is refundable if necessary? Also, one last question, I was planning on using the Military Discount which I've heard should be comparable to the Supplier pricing. Any Idea how that would compare to the $500 over invoice? Just trying to figure out which discount would be better, and if it is worth the price of plane ticket. Thanks again for your updates. |

) but my friend only put down $200- didn't seem to matter to Steve either way. He said flat out that the deposit was fully refundable if the deal didn't work out to our liking when all was said and done; i.e. final deal in writing (once an actual VIN # was available to write it up) didn't match exactly what he told us it would be. Nowhere did I sign anything that the deposit was "non-refundable" as I did at the other dealership. So far as your military discount goes -THANK YOU FOR SERVING - (my own little thread hijack ) if it is comparable to supplier, I can only assume as was written elsewhere that it would be equivalent to 4% (of MSRP) over the cost of employee which we do know. As I said, the worst scenario is you would get the $500 over invoice if your discount wasn't that good. You'll get the better of the two- Steve will I'm sure put that in writing if you ask.

I am going to Paddock tomorrow. I wanted the new WORKBENCH printout in hand as well as my deposit receipt (signed with pricing and "spot" commitment) that I got on Saturday. I picked up the new WORKBENCH printout on my way home from work today.

Another update:
Order cancelled at Paddock. They will be mailing me my refund once the check is cut. Suffice it to say we went through the "I wish you had called.. we could have..." speech to which I replied that I did last week and had "XXX" told me you would accept discounts, we wouldn't be having this conversation now. He said you weren't and that's why things transpired the way they did. All in all, as I said, I have no issues with Paddock- they have done nothing wrong- unless they don't mail me the refund like they promised... |

If what I went through tonight is any indication, they will move if you shove. The worst case is they call your bluff and you're no worse off than you were when you started.

What kind of prices has everyone been quoted on GMS and GSU?
I was quoted $36,400 and $35,980 for a 2SS, 6 speed, RS, VZG stripes, W1H interior, Hurst inc. delivery. $1000 less ($35,400) if GMS eligible from one dealer. Both dealers are mentioned giving GMS/GSU. How the heck is this GMS pricing plus $500 over invoice? I got $33,532..GMS pricing, from the pricing sheet. Not to cause waves with my third post, but something seems amiss. If you are going to offer GMS/GSU pricing, don't send me an email with an offer of $36,400 when MSRP for the same car is $36,790! If the total out the door price for the car, including tax, tag and title is $35,400, now we are talking! This is IN LINE with my numbers. I am pleased that some dealers are offering GM employee, military and supplier pricing, but come on, the numbers are NOT jiving! In ending, I can wait, I wish a lot of you would do as well. GM is HURTING right now and we are paying out the ass for a car that we can't drive, feel, experience, see in a brochure, even get ADEQUATE answers from GM, the dealer or a salesperson. I understand the following, but is it worth getting dicked around by poorly trained salespeople with NO information? Is it worth getting a $36k car for 5K over sticker? I believe everyone should hold off and wait. Why wait? from reading, listening and filtering allthis information on delivery and who gets theirs first, it will not matter. If you ordered your Camaro Oct 13th 6 am, first in line period, or paid a dealer 10k over MSRP 2 years ago to be "the first", well, sorry, how they are entered into the system will decide who gets delivery first. GLAD I was not a sucker to buy into this dealer add on crap. Right now the salespeople and GM should be kissing our asses and giving all eligible persons appropriate discounts, pre-orders or not. I believe if GM eligible, and someone is offering, they need to MAN UP and deliver with the promise, and NOT bait and switch. "Oh I have 26 left, $500 over invoice, Your total is $1400 less than MSRP, not including tax, tag and title. GMS discount for this car is $3198, as optioned! Please! I took this information to my dealer who gave me MSRP back in early Nov. I told him I didnt want to take a chance in switching at this point in the game but in my case it was a $2400 difference. He sighed and said "OK ... what do we need to do?" and then laughed. We came to common ground quickly and easily. He admired me for confronting him and was willing to do what was necessary to keep the sale. Needless to say, I'm not paying MSRP
I think with a few cancelations and the initial "buz" wearing off, dealers will be more willing to "deal" now. I'm certain they'd rather give you a break than lose the sale. I didnt realize how many allocations are still available. Thanks to this websight, we are more informed than most dealers. LOL. Use this info to your advantage! |

If you qualify for GMS, the price will be XXX when officially released, period. There is no negotiation on GMS. It is a "hard" number on the invoice when the car is built. If you have GMS in writing it will be a pre-determined number that neither you nor the dealer can change. Same with GSU although sometimes you can get them to move a couple hundred bucks on it. Now, pay attention, IF YOU DO NOT QUALIFY FOR EITHER OF THE ABOVE, you get $500 over invoice. Where is all this confusion? Certainly not with Basil. If it is, someone let me know and I'll handle it promptly. I'm 10 minutes from them... ![]()
