Camaro V6 vs. Monte Carlo SS non V8

Just wondering how the Maro would stack up against the Monte Carlo SS, with the Supercharger. I had the non-sc so I know the Camaro would win that one. Never seen the Monte SS with the supercharger run. I think this would be a good race.

Ok... found this:

SS Supercharged 2004–2005 3.8 L L67 supercharged V6 240 hp (179 kW) 280 ft·lbf (380 N·m)

So the 2010 V6 Camaro has 64 more HP and slightly less torque.. but guessing the Camaro is going to a better torque curve...

also found this for the Monte Carlo...

0-60 mph : 6.7 sec.
0-¼ mile : 15.3 sec @ 93.0 mph

So the Monte Carlo is almost a full second slower in the 1/4... Should the Camaro should be easily take the Monte Carlo... but of course, at the strip anything can happen! LOL

That time is actually a slow time, most should be in the 14.7-15.0 range, with some factory freaks around 14.5. My 00 Grand Prix GTP 4 door ran 15.0@ 92 bone stock with 98k miles. The thing with them is how easy they take to mods, with just a cold air i ran 14.8 with just that and removing the U-bend and resonator and a PCMforless canned tune it ran 14.3, added a 3.4 pulley and ran 13.9@99.7, less than 400 total in mods. And no, I did not pay retail for that stuff LOL. One thing though, is stock, hitting around 80 is like hitting a brick wall.

Thanks, the stripes are not a true white, they have that pearl to it. Yeah I never really liked the Monte. I had bought a 2001 Tans Am. (Impulse Buy) Found out it was wrecked, tried to get my old car back dealer said no, I said dang it, well give me the Monte then. I was just waiting to get rid of that thing.

The torque curve should probably be better on the Monte since it is a roots blower on it.

But the Camaro is still a notch faster.

No doubt, being RWD the Camaro is definatly a more fun car with power. More than 300 pound feet of torque through the front wheels could get hairy sometimes They do offer turbo kits for both the L67 and the NA 3.8, so yep, you can make the monte fast, but it would also take some wrestling.

I understand that weird feeling with FWD. I test drove a newer Monte SS with the V8 and the power to the front was just awkward for me. Did not like it at all.

I used to love moking the tires off in my GTP, but had to be going straight, trying to steer with spinning tires didn't work too well haha (damned laws of phsics LOL).
