that's a good way to get him to respond...

you aren't satisfied with any of his other responses. Why expect him to say anything if there isn't anything new to add?

If I were him, I'd stay away from this until I had something definitive to say. All Gm has gotten from letting us in on the cars capabilities so far is a whole bunch of WTF. I wouldn't stir the pot any more if I were Scott.

My Guess is Scott is a better man than I am and we'll hear something soon enough.

Well I was hoping for something definitive. I guess I should've shown a little more tact in my previous post and for that I apologize.

But saying "don't worry" isn't responding to our concerns.

I don't expect less passion from you on the issue at all.

All I'm asking is we consider the fact that he may not have anything new to say. So we are left with waiting... I'm not saying we have to like it. Nor, that we shouldn't be dissapointed if it isn't right. I'm just sayiing they are obviously working it so lets wait and see... Until we know something new.

I hate to drag him into this more than he already has been but Number 3's comments seem to say that they definitely DO know more. And I find it impossible that the people working on it don't know any more than "we're working on it." There has to be a specific issue(s) that they're working through with possible solution(s) and a plan to move forward. If you disagree with that then you're calling the Camaro team incompetent and frankly I think otherwise. They know what's going on. They just need to share it with us so we can set our expectations accordingly.

It's probably been sent to a contractor to work on.

And folks realize you can mod the vehicle after you get it. I have seen some amazing things done to cars including neat LED upgrades. Don't wait for GM to do it.
Yes I realize the acrylic panels are needed to get that panel glow. But remote control interior led systems that interface with audio too are on the market. Have drill and crimp tool.. will travel!

Scott is the manager of displays.

GM has a chain of command. When the product manager has officially told others what is what then # 3 and others can comment.

Do do otherwise would just piss off the chain of command.

Hear ye!! Hear ye!! You are but a measly customer who has been put on an informational "need to know basis" only. Any information which may be construed as negative will be blocked from the publics ears because potential buyers of said product may go elsewhere.

Truth is, this can be all put to rest in one sentence "All cars built on March 16th and later will have fully functional ABL as has been expected". Anything else is a half truth or can be open for interpretation.

Went to the doctor for the chronic pain in my chest and after some tests and xrays he told me it's probably 'Ambient' pain associated with a previous injury from weight lifting. All I could think about when he was talking to me is 'Ambient' lighting. The Camaro is always on my mind. Too funny.

OK Boss,

I'm sure they know infinitely more than what they've told us. Maybe they are on the bubble of we might be able to get it fixed. Maybe it's down to the hours of whether or not the "fix" can be tested adequately, Maybe they are hoping for a miracle. Maybe they are going to work like hell, exhaust every option, and put 24/7 time in until there is no way to get it done? Regardless they don't have to tell us anything until they are ready.

Which is why this conversation is frustrating for so many. GM has nothing to gain by telling us their plan of attack on ABL. Nor are we entitled to know their plan. GM is obligated to tell us if ABL will be available as promised. If not they are obligated to correct the cost appropriately.

Again, why say something now, if they don't know the outcome? Why risk it? This thing is probably down to the wire. Now, if they already know there will be a degradation to ABL, and they are sitting on it, then I'd concede to you that would be bad form on their part. But that is a guess and you are trying to infer this to be the case from a post by Number3, who's been gone since this conversation started. Odd coincidence. I'm not saying anything bad happened but, he's probably keeping his distance as to not confuse the issue. Which is the basis for my whole position on this topic.

That's the bottom line for me.

We may just have to agree to disagree.

After this is all done with, it would be interesting to read all about the ABL issue in that book some of us preordered, Camaro: A Legend Reborn...hopefully it makes it in. gtahvit sure makes it sound dramatic enough...

And for the record. I have ZERO insight as to what is happening. I truly wish I did. But I don't.

We may just have to agree to disagree.
I think some people want GM to be very forthcoming with their customers and others like you think "why should they"? No opinion is wrong here, everyone thinks differently about things. What I absolutely love about this site is that we can all think differently and accept that fact. Too many other sites have members with this "my way or the highway" attitude.

I don't think there is one person here who hasn't disagreed with me about something. But I can also say that the same person has agreed with me on something else and visa-versa. That's why this site will without a doubt be un-stoppable. All points of view are covered here. Not so on other sites. You guys rock!

Agreed, and sometimes I write stuff here that looks totally hilarious in my head, but ends up P.O. folks, sorry.
