I have my quote from State Farm on paper. They have the car in the system at the office.
If the insurance was over $135 as quoted online, I would not have bought a Camaro. |

Quick Question,
The only reason I am not getting a SS Camaro is due to insurance. So, does anyone know how much of a difference a 16 year old with a SS camaro vs. a 2LT would be? Multi Car Discount, Took driving ed, all A's. State fArm is our insurance would it be a huge difference or a small?

16 year old with an SS?
Your insurance premum will be more than your car payment. Probably $450 a month. |

Call your insurance agent... You will have an answer in 2 minutes.
When I had a 67 Firebird 400 when I was 17, insurance was $200 a month, full coverage. That was 20 years ago. 16 years old, very very fast car (SS), even the 300 HP LT, plus limited driving experience, plus new car equals most insurance companies will not touch you, unless you insure this through your parents. How did you plan on paying for car? Will, trust? Not to be a dick, but if you finance at 16with little or no credit, insurance companies also do not like because of the associated "risk" as somebody else paying for car (other than bonafide job) and insurance companies relate no "interest" of responsibility and have accrued same. NOT inferring you have not saved or don't have a job, just know a little of the inner workings of insurance. In essence, people drive like crap if someone else is paying for the car. I make close to 80k a year and have 0 debt, a $1300 mortgage and a $423 motorcycle payment with a 747 FICO score, I am having a difficult time getting a great rate and payment. Good luck! I can call Erin tomorrow if you want for a rate. I have your state and age |

Dude, 16 year olds are going to get screwed either way on insurance, whether you are going to ride a donkey or driving a 2LT. Its just part of life. I am 19 now, when I get the Camaro, I should be 21- 22, and if I get my Camaro, I'm probably going to put the insurance under my parents name. And thank goodness I have never received a ticket so far.

State Farm has all the different ratings based on trim levels. Pretty much they have a rating for the LS, LT, and SS. They don't need VIN's. My rep told me the rate won't be any different when there are VIN numbers as long as the model you get matches the trim lvl they quote you.

State farm in Miami is rediculous! 26 no tickets clean record for 50/100/250 w/ 500 deductibles was $250 a MONTH on a 2002 subaru wrx.
Geico is $106 with same coverage. For comparison sake a 2007 Corvette coupe is $116 so I'm guess it won't go up much. |
