HELP! Am I getting a good price?

hello all. new to the forum but have been around some other GM forums for several years. i've had a 1996 Camaro SS, 2000 Camaro SS, 2006 corvette and when the first child came along i tried out a 2005 CTS-V. all were a blast to drive and i have been a big fan of GM for years. now i want to step into a 2011 Camaro.

anyway......looking at a 2011 Camaro SS/RS mt6. it is Black with Black leather, HUD, RS package, Hurst Shifter, Sunroof. MSRP is 37625 with the installed options. after haggeling back and forth they say the best they can do is 35891 plus taxes/title/license.....so basically in the end it will be 38k out the door.
IS THIS A GOOD PRICE???

$2K Off MSRP is not enough. I got $2K off MSRP on a 1LT/RS, so I would shoot for at least $3,000 to $3,500. There's a sheet that will show you MSRP and How much is the dealer cost (Not including Holdback), I would calculate the Invoice price there and try to get at least invoice.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me. The Gen 5 Camaro is super hot, so don't expect the dealer to move too much on the 2011s... perhaps the 2010s. Good luck!!

yeah they also have 2010 2ss/rs in the showroom. inferno orange with cyber gray stripes and black interior and 59 miles i could get for prob 35k out the door....unfortunately i am set on a manual otherwise i would have already bought it.

If you hold out for a little bit, you may be able to get a better deal once the convertibles hit showrooms. Maybe....

Sounds good to me with sunroof and hurst shifter. Tell them to throw in stripes and youll take it. If you want stripes.

Did you have any discounts applied? Because to get 3k off MSRP the dealer has to sell the car for under invoice and give you back all their holdback profit plus some. They may have other incentives going on such as GM cash back or loyalty money, but w/o that I'm not exactly sure how you can get them to go much lower.

i bought mine for 34800 2ss rs before tax tag and title and that was invoice o yeah 2011

I did not qualify for any incentives. MSRP on my car was $27,525 and I paid about $26,000 for it + Tax. It came out to about $28,000 OTD. I did not pay a dealer fee or any other hidden fee. I got about $1,500 off + I was able to avoid a large dealer fee of $500+ which is normal. But when you think about it, mine was only a basic 1LT/RS with Automatic, his is a fully loaded 2SS/RS he should be able to get at least $2,500 off MSRP especially with the Convertibles on their way.

I am not any type of specialist, but have been researching the Camaro 5 for the last moth as I will be getting my first Camaro in the next few months. I checked the "True Market Value® Pricing" for the Chicago area and the is $36,675 with and Dealer Invoice Price of $36,043 and a MSRP of $37,725 and then there is a Dealer Holdback of about 3% of MSRP. So in my opinion this is a good price. Good Luck and if you do buy it congrades.
