Opinions on Black on Black with or without black coated rims?

i am planning to get some mods done and this is one of the mods i want to do. but i wanted to get everyone's opinion. So on a black on Black 1LT with RS, should i get the factory stock 20 inch rims coated black or not?

i am also planning to get my windows tinted and get a 3m guard for front/rear bumpers. also, will any shop be able to do those? or do i have to go to a specific one.

I personaly cannot stand any black wheels on any type of car. It just reminds me of running around without hubcaps back when hubcaps were in use.
I vote leave them stock.

Do what I did -- keep the factory aluminum wheels, then get a set of LS Heritage steelies from somebody on the forum as "winter wheels" (You'll need them in New York)

The summer tires are really that, so you'll need another set of at least the all-season radials.

I love having both sets (black and aluminum) because as soon as I get sick of one set, the other bolts on.

Now if you're in NYC (depending on whether you have the space in Queens or Bklyn) you may not have anywhere to store another set of wheels.

I used to live in Park Slope and paid $400 a month for parking.

mine is blacked out everything except the wheels. at first i wanted to powder coat the wheels but the longer i own the car the less i think i am going to do it. i will have to decide when it is time for tires.

I agree. A second set of wheels has several advantages. I know several guys that realized too late that their car is "too black" with black wheels.

park slope born and raised!

leave the stock rims alone and buy some black rims when you have the money to do so.

get some all season or winter tires for the stock rims and ride them in the fall/winter. throw the black rims on (if you decide to purchase some) during the spring and summer.

thats my future plan, i like the factory rims for now.
