the reverse mokawk is the dip in the middle of the roof. if it was raised instead of recessed it would look like a Mohawk Indians hair style. I guess that term is Politically Incorrect so we need to come up with a new term for it like roof alley.... since roof ditch has already been used for the small wated drains on the edges of the roof that also are the welding seams.

Sunroof: Did not order it.
Like it though. It's different. But it reminds me of the old Honda Prelude. The Camaro is low to the ground and wouldn't you hate for some @sshole to toss a lit smoke and it end up in your backseat while driving down the highway? Reverse Mowhawk: Looks like the 'Vette. Love it. It's different. Gives a new exterior touch to a Retro-style. Get them now before the next generation does away with it making the 5Th Gen. "unique" in one more way.

Ive always been a sunrrof guy, i always have the shade open atleast, and when i saw it on the SS at the autoshow, my heart melted. But then i thought, i havnt seen the Mohawk in person, is it really noticable, and form the looks of it, it really is. Now i have some serious thinking to do, thanks alot ffor your opinions guys, it helps. But i think that i am going to see if i can find some way to get more money for the sunroof, and if i cant, its not like i really lucked out because i still would get a beautiful reverse mohawk.

I am ordering the sunroof for the light it will let into the passenger compartment even if I dont open it. To be honest I never noticed the mohawk roof until someone pointed it out to me. The dealer (17 sold) has tried to talk me out of it as he claims the sunroof will depreciate the car on resale- I don't agree !. He only has one of the seventeen sold ordered with a sunroof. I think my SS/RS with the sunroof will be pretty rare and more desirable if I ever decide to sell. (just my opinion)

If I didn't know any better, this sounds like something I would write. SPOT ON! I did the exact same thing for the exact same reasons. To the OP. I saw the car in person and the reverse mohawk is noticable and quite awesome. Then I took digital pictures of the car at the show and for some reason the camera doesn't pick it up as well as the naked eye in person. I suggest you get to an auto show nearby to see for yourself. With any luck, maybe they'll have one with the sunroof and one without. I did not have that luxury but I don't like roofs that retract outward insdead of inward. Makes it look too aftermarket and cheap to me but that's JMHO. Good luck!
