Question: Does anyone else park in 2 parking spaces (at an angle) way out in the boon docks of the parking lot to avoid door dings and other idiot marks from other people?? Please let me know lol!

I was in the farthest two stalls the other day, and the establishment was not even close to being busy. Some jackass in a ford F250 (yes that was his first mistake) parks so close to my car, my girlfriend couldnt even walk through. He had to have climbed out the passenger side of the truck to get out. I left a nice (ok not so nice) note on his P.O.S.

Is it people being jealous? Or being huge D-Bags? Or Both??

There is something about the car that makes some people become assholish, for me it appears most BMW folks have an issue with our cars and when I do get cut off it is usually a BMW (ok just kidding) But you do get less folks being kind on the road as you would with other cars. The Good news is you do have the Power and ability to leave most of as a memory !

People generally get out of my way or show a fair amount of respect that i've noticed I didn't get in other cars.. maybe its my area or maybe they just RESPEK THE CAMARO.

Mrs Ninja drives the Camaro

I drive the BMW....... what ya tryin to say?? haha jk

but seriously, i know the feeling of the OP, but in my BMW..people make assumptions about me because of my car, be it jealousy or hate towards german cars. I haven't had it happen in the Camaro yet, just stares of awe of the SGM "ZELDA" and people loving the car itself, but no hate towards her...just towards my Bimmer "SUZY"

No, and you shouldn't be taking up two spots, regardless of where you are in the parking lot. In fact, taking up two spots is probably inviting more door dings then it is preventing because people are going to park that much closer to you like the Ford did.

I park in one (1) spot in the parking lot but I do go somewhat toward the back. Whether this prevents dings or not, I don't know, but that's what I do.

I concur as those are the ones that are the worst. I had a guy pull along side of me on the freeway and give me thumbs up. He then looked behind him at all his kids and did a make believe shoot himself in the head with his finger. Too bad his wife saw him do that and proceeded to wail on him.

About 30 years ago I parked my brand new Toyota pickemup truck in a strore parking lot at 2:30 in the morning. On my way home from the honky tonk on a Saturday night. Wouldn't dream of doing anything like that now but back then it wasn't a big deal. I was the only vehicle in the parking lot so I parked fairly close to the door. I come out of the store and I see someone parked near my truck. The closer I get I see exactly how close he has parked next to me. Couldn't have opened my passenger door if I wanted to. Shopping carts are hazardous to things like turn signals, headlights, doors, etc. Lesson learned: Don't drink and park!

Driving ability seems to have declined over the last year or so... It makes me mildly comfortable knowing I have a decent handling car with big brakes to avoid aforementioned situations.

Cheers to all the decent drivers of the world....

$#$% you to all the piss poor drivers who don't check blind spots, cut people off, go 5mph UNDER the speed limit, ride in the passing lane next to the slow driver in the right lane, don't use turn signals, insist on blowing their horn as soon as the light turns green, text / talk on the phone while driving (don't care how good you think you are at it... YOUR NOT so F'ing stop... you're gonna kill someone.

Sometimes I wonder how some people passed their test

I had a situation like this about a week after I got my car, but it all ended well. He was driving a 2005 Mustang with what sounded like a super charger drag wheels small up front big in back, and I came on the freeway and I cut him off. Not meaning anything by it, but he got pissed pulled up next to me and revved up. I revved back, but he burned the tires at 75 miles an hour so I was pretty sure I had no chance in a stock SS. We played cat and mouse for a while changing spots on the freeway till he pulled off the freeway about 20 miles down the road we both let out a wave and went our seperate ways. It was fun, and other then him being mad at first it seems like we just enjoyed each others cars.

Think thats hard, trying being a chick driving one of these cars. Girls are jealous and pissed that ur not a hot guy driving it and guys underestimate a girl driving a sports car. I definately think it's a jealousy thing. I dont get into too much trouble in mine tho. I drive fast and usually I am the asshole blowing through traffic. I live up to the fact I drive a sports car and my license plate holder in my avatar

Kind of like how I got to listen to a PodCast from the dude in front of me on the train because he either didn't have headphones or didn't care to put them in.

Or when I got elbowed straight in the spine for trying to walk around a crowd standing in the middle of the isle on the bus. There was plenty of room in the back, they just didn't want to move. It wasn't an accident. It was a very intentional hit.

Or the people standing eating chips, drop crumbs on me then look at me weird when I get mad at them -- or better yet, they chuckle to their friend about it.

Yeah.. We're turning in to general assholes and concerned about no one other than ourselves.

I don't notice a difference, but what you described pretty much sounds like everybody in northern Virginia.
