Rode in and then drove an R8....
....not just an R8 though....the R8 V10 convertible! I'm sure most of you know about the specs of the car, the engine, etc, so I won't bore you with that....let me just say that this is hands down the quickest, fastest car I have ever driven.
My wife's uncle has been waiting for this car to come in for over a year.....triple black R8 convertible, AWD, and the carbon fiber package on it. He hasn't had it very long and even had to put the plates on it before we took it out. I rode with his 3rd son, then with his 2nd son, then I took my sister-in-law for a ride and then my wife.... Okay, don't flame me or anything, but we did get the thing over 100mph 3 times.....we were out in the middle of nowhere with it on straight, flat, smooth road. The shifts happen so fast....it does have the paddle shifters and you can use the shift lever to shift (+ or - only, no real gate), but you can tell the shifts are much slower and a lot less smooth when done by the driver rather than the car. Definitely surprised at how comfortable the car is considering how well it handles. Impressive machine. I know the "pics or it didn't happen" rule around here, so I'll see if I can get the them up here soon. |

love. my. car.

Lucky! I love the looks of the R8. I'll probably never be in one though. I'm sure by the time I could afford the base model, they'd have discontinued it or it'll be running on hydrogen

I hear you on affording one.....
Here are two pics....the first one is the only one my wife took that showed the whole car (yeah, apparently I need to teach her about taking pictures), that's me in the passenger seat. Anyway, the other one is me and the wife, sitting in the driveway answering questions, before we went out for our drive.... Sorry in advance for my ugly mug ruining the shots. |
