Yeah, pretty heavy duty.
Gonna go check out another forum members sway bar now. Thinks he bent it. I KNOW his endlink is bent.

Oh, and Here is Spohns LCA. They added vertical material but the problem will still exist. And for 500.00, I don't think it's worth it. Last edited by PQ; 04-29-2011 at 10:31 AM. |

I thought about getting the Spohn LCAs too. But, as my stock LCAs appear fine, I'm going to wait.
I may get the Pfadt attachment pieces next time my car is in the shop for work. What I'd prefer is if Pfadt would make their own version of the LCA. |

There really is no benefit to a whole new LCA. UNLESS the end link tab problem is solved with a new one. But just change the busings and your done. Getting a new LCA still leaves the knuckle bushing stock.

Obviously spohn knew something the rest of us didn't...
Dan (600lpe) had been driving the hell out of his car and hasn't had a problem with his Spohn LCAs... I'd think with the reinforcement strategy, like what Pete is proposing, any of our vendors could make a reasonably affordable LCA that would be less than $500 and be suitable for almost all of us... No reported failures of the Spohn LCA??? so it seems they've got something right???

Okay so I finally read this entire thread and I do see some light at the end of the tunnel.
From what I see it's a MUST to replace the end links with an aftermarket end link that's adjustable. Most of these cases come from cars that have the suspension modified (Lowered) in some way. It appears that we are changing the dynamics of the suspension but yet we are leaving the stock end links and thus creating our problem. I recently installed a Hotchkis Race Track suspension and the instructions say to set the replacement adjustable end links to stock settings. Now why would we want to do this if it appears that the stock setting is wanting to rip itself out of the LCA mount? I have a question for the professionals......would it be a good idea to extend the adjustable end link to 1/4" or longer from the stock setting to reduce the stress?

Spohn uses 3/16" steel, even on the endlink tab. That's thick. But like I said, that's waaaay down the road should the endlink tab fail. Right now all is good. Now it seems I spend more time under the car than washing it!
