Yea,
Thats the same noise I was hearing.
I have recieved my replacment valves, but hav'nt had a chance to install it yet.
I'm probably going to run the one without the check valve for now since it seems to work just as well.

Hey is this right for it closed? My Dad checked his for the first time yesterday and the house looked brown but no oil came out. Which way should it be turned to close?

If you look at it from upside down you turn the valve clockwise to close. Strange thing is that when it's closed you see all the threads (all the way out), it's kinda like a radiator drain petcock. You can tell if it is really closed by starting the engine and checking for suction with your finger on the end of the drain hose (or remove the hose and check at the valve). If it's closed no suction, open will feel suction on your finger!

I haven't read all the posts yet but I have that hissing sound and I don't have a catch can. I recently installed a ported TB and I started hearing it. I took it off...5 minute job and checked everything. My idles also erratic too. Not smooth. Vendor said I have possible a vac leak....

Yea, sounds like it! Check the hose coming from the intake tube and also the short tube on the pass side where the valley cover output and intake manifold input is (short U shaped snap on hose).

Have you tried out the new can yet? Or has Tracy discovered why yours was making noise, despite no using the check valve?

We shipped him the new can, but after cutting his apart can find nothing out of the ordinary that would cause it. We can force air through (80 psi) and get a slight whistle, but were stumped on what the deal was.

Update. Tracy replaced my hissing catch can with a new one and after about a month or so I can say that this one seems to be much better! It hisses a little but that's to be expected. It is by far much better than the original one. I can see that the new one has much better fittings on it that seem to seal better and they were in the correct orientaion when installed. The original can had the fittings reversed and I had to turn them 180 deg to work. So I am now a happy camper and I'm very pleased with the help and support I got from Tracy!
