Dealer Question on Warranty
If I buy a new 2010 and the dealer has been using it as a demo and racked up 9,000 miles does my 3 year/36.000 mi warranty start from purchase date and 9,000 miles? So it would be 3ys from purchase day and 45.000 miles, or am I stuck with the 36,000 miles no matter what?
TIA Mike

I believe it is from purchase, but I could be wrong. I think at the end of the day it is up to the dealer though.

Technically, you are buying a used car when you buy a demo. The warranty date starts the day the dealer put it into service as a demo.

It starts from the day it went in service so
you lose the time and miles. You could negotiate an extended warranty and pick the time and miles back up. |

Bumper to Bumper Limited Warranty 01/26/2010 0 MI 01/26/2013 36,000 MI So I'm looking at roughly 20 months of coverage and 27K miles. GMs GMPP Major guard is not really a bumper to bumper coverage plan from what I saw. Does GM offer a plan that is truly equal to the 3/36 factory plan?

Besides that, the GMPP major guard is the most inclusive warranty you can get. It will cover basically everything except interior trim and consumable parts like brakes, clutch and wiper blades. All major powertrain, electrical, and safety related parts are covered and if you opt for the zero deductable it's as close to the factory warranty you can get. |
