I went to Oshawa (w/o the car) last year & brought my fuse box cover - it was easier to put in a carry-on bag than the engine cover. Team Camaro signed my shock towers in April. I could bring the engine cover and catch anyone I've missed.

Happy a bad situation is working out for you. Think you might still have the opportunty to discuss depreciated value due to the amount of damage on your baby. Others on this board might have some insight on this issue.
Also make sure you are agreeable to warrenty of parts, including paint. Been driving since 1967 and had more than one car hit and requiring paint. Always had repairs done at a dealership (Ford, GM, Chrysler). Too many times to count, a year or two years later, the repainted areas, paint failed due to poor prep work (mostly cracking and flaking) I ended up paying to repaint. My paint would start cracking, flaking, at about 18 months so get a good paint warrenty longer than 12 months.

Ruffian118, glad you are ok. Well the tide has turned because in many states her license would be suspended, she would have to go to school, her insurance rates will go through the roof or worse they will drop her altogether. On the other hand you will be getting your baby back with all new parts and in the interim driving around in a rs/ss convert. P.S. I am up for taking the baseball bat to the SUV and inserting the where the sun does not shine.
Seriously, glad you were not hurt and that things turned out for the best.

Driving around with the top down today, some of my pain was eased. But I'm still wanting my little girl back soon and good as new

I spent 5 hours detailing her today. She couldn't have been rented out more than a couple times, but there was dirt in the backseats, glue from the window stickers still on the windows, sand and gravel in the wheel wells (I'm thinking someone was turning donuts on a gravel road in her), filthy dirty wheels, etc. She'll be better cared for in the next month than she would've ever been through Avis. As long as I have it, it will look as a Camaro should look - HOT!

I now have a temporary substitute for my girl for the next 3-5 weeks. Most likely the car I'll be taking to Oshawa . Still not my own, but the next best option.

Meet Spirit's "understudy":
Well its the next best replacement for Spirit built on the same line by the same build team members up here in Oshawa Enjoy that great looking VR Vert .

tough to do, though, when every 3rd driver on the road has a phone stuck to their ear.

No car can ever take Spirit's place in my heart. She'll be a suitable stand-in, though - still in her infancy (based on her VIN & some tracking info on other cars, I'm guessing built during the 2nd half of March). See you in a couple weeks, Mike!

Well, the repairs have begun. Suspension parts affected have now been replaced. Knuckle bearing (I think that's what they called it) was not damaged. Tested the alignment today and, preliminarily, it looks real good. Still waiting on some parts to come in from Detroit, but it's moving forward.

The VR 'vert is a nice car (yes, it's been nicknamed "Wildfire") but she sure loves gasoline. Finally stopped raining long enough to put the top down today which was really cool, but I miss my tinted windows (and my MRT V2.0 exhaust).

Susan - I was just talking to my husband about you today. I certainly know how you feel about Spirit. Hyperion almost was toast a few weeks ago. A woman turned out in front of him while he was traveling 50 mph - brembos stopped the car within 18" of hitting her in the door. That was a distance of one & 1/2 car lengths. Everyday there is someone driving like they're drunk - only they are addicted to holding a phone with one hand and not steering a car straight. I'm glad you will be able to come to Oshawa. I still have pics of you and hubby with your fav 5th Gen award from Fbodfather. We were so excited waiting for you to come back to your car and find it!! Your reaction was caught priceless it was.

Heeheeheeeee! I have many funny stories about the Atlanta Gathering - but one year, I'd rented a Grand Prix -

Now - you know how some people ask me to sign their cars- right? (and I'm honored to do so!)

WELLLLL........some of our fellow Camaro Comrades thought it would be a good idea if THEY? were to sign under the hood of my rental car..........

I can only imagine the reaction of the technician who opened the hood to find about a thousand signatures all over the engine compartment --

........and people like Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Gordon, Tom Selleck, Sandy Bullock - you name it!

Also:

One year, I rented an Impala - Jeremy (the 'lil weasel V 2.0) swiped the keys - and the next thing I knew, they were having a contest to see how many people would fit into an Impala.

(answer - 16...)

THE NEXT YEAR - - I rented another Grand Prix -

........so I'm walking thru the parking lot one evening when things were in full-swing -

..........and there's a pile of 'seats' in the middle of the parking lot.......

................and there's a Grand Prix (...mine.....) with no interior..........

And they're trying to see how many people will fit in it if you took the seats out........

(answer: 24)

I thought to myself - I wonder what would happen if I dropped a mouse or rat thru the sunroof while everyone was in there....would the car 'explode?'

(...........things that make you go "hmmmmm"........)
