Will replacing stock cats with high flows throw a code?

I've got some old high-flow cats still in the boxes from a Vette I used to have.
Since I'm considering some exhaust changes to battle drone issues, I'm thinking of having the shop put these high flow cats in at the same time.

Will doing this require a tune afterwards or will the computer adjust on its own?
I'm not ready to have problems with the warranty.

Thanks in advance

I have been looking into Solo Hi flow cats, He is a vendor/sponsor here on the boards. From what I can tell he guarantees no codes and they do not require a tune. I believe it has something to do with the placement of the O2 sensors, not sure if weld ins would work or not. Someone with more knowledge can probably chime in.

They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

I went with the JBA to save money and I regret my decision. Unfortunately I was in the first group that bought the JBA and quite a few of us are getting codes thrown from them. I wish I would of spent the extra money on the Solo Mid pipes instead, they arent throwing codes. Other then the code issue, I am happy with the sound and increased horse power. Definitely woke the car up.

More than likely yes. From what I have heard the Solo HF cats do not throw a code, in most cases. Then the JBA HF cats throw a code about 70% of the time. I mean there is nothing wrong with just ignoring the CEL either.

Actually ignoring a CEL that you know is due to the highflow cats is fine. The problem is should another issue arise that would set the CEL you'll never know.

OP - SOLO doesn't set codes because of the supplied rear O2 extenders. I've been running them for several thousand miles without a CEL. If you do your own highflow cats consider getting O2 extenders or anti foulers.

My JBAs do not throw a code. If you throw a lean code like I did, it means they're not fitted well. As long as they are installed well, you should have no codes.

My JBAs are installed well, even had them checked out by a professional and it is still throwing an O2 code. Like mentioned above quite a few of us are getting codes with the JBA mid pipes, its hard to believe that 70% of us are all installing them incorrectly.

I've had my Solo's for a couple thousand miles and have had NO fitment or performance issues! I love them! No CEL's because of the supplied O2 extenders Solo uses to remove the sensor from direct flow. By the way, I may be selling my Solo's soon cause I'm going with LT's. So if anyone is interested let me know!

You said that was the "first group". Did Jba make changes? Bought mine in Feb.

Not that I am aware of. Just said first group because they were a new product so we didnt have the benefit of reading other users experience. We were the test subjects so to speak. If I had to do it all over again I would of went with the Solo. If I am going to have a CEL I might as well have gotten Long Tube headers.

I purchased the JBA mids and never had a CEL.

I would still spend less than $400.00 on JBA's and buy the o2 extenders for $5.00 on e-bay vs $575.00 for the Solo's. $170.00 is just to much of a difference for the same part.

Just my o2
