Isn't there to much heat in the diffuser from the exhaust, might melt those wires right off

I wouldn't worry too much about the heat, the diffuser itself is plastic.... Not many options for this.... The section on the diffuser that I was thinking about is too small.... You could always buy one of those rings for the license plate, and mount it there
