Thus one of the main "functions" a sports car should have, is to look awesome. Camaro does that the best.
Then why even offer a V8 option? There is really no difference between the looks of the base and SS versions of the car. With CAFE being the biggest issue facing pony/muscle cars in the future, why decrease GM's CAFE rating by producing a SS versionl? I would suggest your opinion does not speak for the majority of Camaro owners who do consider function before form. Otherwise, how would you account for GM selling any GenIV Camaro's?

Why yes it is.

My GF and I pulled it from a wrecked former California Highway Patrol car one night in my driveway back in 06.

If looks dont matter then why even buy a new car? Why not just buy a used POS that you can make really fast? Why put on expensive rims, tint or other mods to make it look better? Sorry but I want a fast car that looks awesome and is fun to drive.

Camaro FTW!!!

Some people like to go fast and still have a factory warranty intact and a 550hp 2011 GT500 w/ stickies was my way of going fast and having a warranty.

I am right with you there, that is why I have decided to put off doing the mods I want. It makes more sense to get a ZL1 and have a warranty.

I see your point. However, my friend (his name is Roger Wilcox) is the the GM at Tri Lakes Ford here where I live. They sold a GT500 cash to some guy from TX a few months ago. It was black with the red stripe. I ended up giving Roger's 7 mo. pregnant wife a ride home the other day from AR because her "friends" left her at Business After Hours event we both happened to be at. Anyway we got onto the subject of the GT500 because Roger and I took it out for a test drive. Impressive car, very fast BTW. Anyway she told me that the toolbag from TX was back in 3 days later with a broken tranny-guess he didn't know how to drive or that was their judgement. Long story short, Fords factory warranty did NOT cover it.

Wow!! Lots of comments on the subject. I'm not a Mustang hater but the Camaro just looks alot better. I don't go to the 1/4 mile or to the track (not yet) but I do turn heads and hear compliments every day. There will always be something faster.

It would be hard to say I am not a GM kinda guy, but I try to compensate for that with my comments. Driving the Mustang bone stock down the street compared to a bone stock Camaro and counting the turning heads the hands down winner is the Camaro. Some may argue that Camaro has a superior design and it may. I am not sure pure design is the reason. The Mustang has been in steady production since 1964. There is a familiarity to the eye with the Mustang. The Camaro is fresher in the sense it took a vacation from production.

Long story short, putting personal preference aside the Camaro currently turns more heads per mile. IMO.

^^ yep, even had people stop in the middle of the road to watch me drive by.

What makes it even better, there are only 2 GT500's where I live.
