WILL DEALER REMOVE THE SKIP SHIFT THING?

Absolutely hate that thing! Will a dealership remove this thing for me? Anyone else have this removed at the dealer? Thanks!

Nope. None that I have ever heard of.

No. Dealer will not tune out the skip shift feature in your Camaro. You can purchase a skip shift eliminator or get a custom tune or just give it more gas.

In the future after the more rigid CAFE standards kick in, it will go from 1st straight to 6th. (Don't elect any more treehuggers plz)

It's a Chevy ... Just run the RPM up higher and you won't have to worry about it.

Buy a skip shift eliminator and ask them nicely to install it. If they say no then install in yourself, it's easy.

We have several dealers that buy Apex skip shift eliminators and install them on Camaros but it is a case by case deal. Some dealers completely balk at the idea. It is a very simple install. It literally takes longer to lift the car than it does to do that actual install.

Here is a link to an article on our blog with some more info on CAGS and skip shift eliminators.

The service manager seems pretty cool. He has one as well. I will ask!

I made a right turn the other day and realized during my shifting from 1st to a supposed 2nd, that I pulled out in front of a car going way faster than it should have been and the CAGS made me go into 4th. I had to quickly downshift back to 2nd and thank God for 426 horses or I would have been rear ended.
Thanks for information on the fix for this. It doesn't happen very often to me but it just seems to always happen at the wrong time.

I had my Classic Chevrolet install my skip shift eliminator at my oil change. Works like a charm!
