I wonder if a military guy could pull that off. Tell the dealer he is headed to the middle east and is going to bring the car with him....

it ain't illegal to export a car gents, you just have to own the car to export it and fill out the proper paperwork with customs. it make take some time but it is most certainly possible.

While I suppose that has a possibility of working, I would wait and buy from the dealer there (assuming that you don't have to wait terribly long). It will most definately save you a good deal of trouble in the long run, even if it does not seem like a desireable situation now. And welcome to the site! If you have any questions feel free to ask, don't let that dealer (if you do decide to go that route) rip you off or anything.

Are you rich? Then you can find a broker that will buy it and ship it to you. Money talks.
You can get a car flown to you on a 747 if you have enough cash.

If the car has to be Gulf spec, there is no way to do it because they aren't building export spec Camaros until next year. Even if a military guy could export it, it still wouldn't be Gulf spec and I think there is a waiting period( I don't remember if its 6 months or a year)before a new car can be shipped overseas and the car has to be owned, not financed. At least, thats the way it is to ship a car to Guam through the military. You would have to have somebody with a U.S. address buy the car and hold on to it during the waiting period, then ship it, but it still wouldn't be gulf spec and by the time you did all that, the export models would be available.
