I thought that at first too, but the corvette clubs around here dont mind that camaros, Matter of fact we do lots of events together, if its drag racing or what.

Heck its been joked that we are going to change our camaro clubs name from PNWCC (pacific Northwest camaro club) to PNWCCCCC (pacific Northwest camaro, corvette, chevelle, chevy club, most of our guys own camaros, corvettes & one guy even owns a chevy II lol.

Seems like you missed the point and kind of avoided the real issue.

In order for a v6 owner to make such a comment to a v8 owner, I would assume that the v6 owner had a reason i.e. the v6 bashing that took place PRIOR to the comment made about the v8 owner…

"for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

As we all know, the v6 bashing on this site happens daily and imho all of it is not just "friendly ribbing" and it is nobodies place other than the v6 owners to make that determination.

I am an administrator/moderator on a website that has been operating since 2006 and has over 22 thousand members. I know everything you deal with on a daily basis with this website plus much more; I am the Tran and the Milk of my website.

It is your (the staffs) responsibility to control the v6 bashing that takes place on this website, daily... It is not the responsibility of the member/v6 owner that logs on daily for CAMARO related information, to police the forums and report post as well...

members reporting offensive post are a huge help and I’m sure the staff is very thankful for those that do/have, I have definitely done so in the past.

However, look at your statement below:

How can you come across a comment like that ^ without first seeing and/or acknowledging why it was made in the first place?

It’s not the comment that the “V6er” made that’s the problem, the reason why they felt the need to make that comment is the problem, the relentless ongoing daily bashing that takes place is the problem imho.

You are making a bunch of assumptions. The main one is that the V6 guys make those types of comments only when provoked. That is completely false. I have seen these types of comments made completely unprovoked. Like I said previously, it's the internet there will always be an A** that will go out of their way to insult anyone.

unprovoked at the moment possibly.

but we (you and I) have to understand and agree that there is in fact a reason why the comment was made... whether it stems from an encounter that v6 owner had with a member on here two months ago or with someone a few mins ago at a stop light.

but here, on this website that is all about the camaro and the people that love them... i think that an effort should be made to control the amount of negative comments that are posted daily.

I would expect a certain amount of Camaro bashing on a mustang or challenger forum, but was disappointed that the corvette guys act the way they are about another chevy. mind you it's not everyone but enough to catch my attention. I don't think I have ever seen anyone post a negative comment about the vette on this site.
just another way for us all to realize what a great site camaro5 is.
Well I think the new Camaro is one beautiful car,I have been a Vette owner for 35 years and hope to upgrade to a new C-6 GS by next spring,my wife wants a green Camaro so the will be next purchase. I can see no reason to bash the Camaro,I have loved them ever since I had a 69 SS RS.

There is, when we see them and when people report them. Like I said earlier. We get to posts quicker when they are reported. But too often, people are too proud to report a post they find offensive.....

I think a lot of guys forget where they came from.
They forget that they probably owned a Camaro/Firebird at one point in their life.
My feeling is that you are not a true "car guy" if you don't have the time or appreciation for a car that is not one of the cars you currently own.

The Corvette is the corvette, but everybody has known somebody with a Camaro, and it's more of a rustic feeling rather than the aura of awesomeness that is the Corvette.

Simply put, the Camaro is an awesome steak you can get for $20 that everybody can appreciate, while the Corvette is a $100 fillet Mignon.

And likewise, the Ferraris and Lambos are for the even more elitist crowd.
This is kind of funny this whole thing. Crap rolls down hill. The SS guys are better than the V6 guys, the Corvette guys are better than the SS guys, the Porsche guys are better than the Corvette guys, the Lambo guys are better than the Porsche guys but don't quite have the crap together enough to get the brand new Ferarri and of course the Ferrari guys are the best. Oh wait there's the new McLaren MP4-12C and the 100,000.00+ Veyron.

If what you drive is all that defines you then you're someone I and a lot more other people probably don't care to meet.

I love this forum. Lot's of cool SS-ers and V6-ers who are very knowledgeable and helpful on here. I have learned so much about my car and I appreciate it so much more than would if I didn't know about Camaro5.

Then there's the V6ers who are overly defensive and the SSers who are overly offensive. They both share a common trait: Insecurity. And none of the rest of us are fooled.

Goodness, sakes, this is the Internets!!!! Why take so much of this stuff so seriously. Lighten up folks. There's enough Road Rage and anger going on.

Let's enjoy these cars. V-6, V-8, ZL-1, whatever. They are Camaros and they are damn good lookin' cars too!

I read the Corvette Forum and the Camaro5 forum religiously and I find very little mention of Camaro's at all on the Corvette forum or vice versa, none the less negative stuff.

Why would someone be too proud to report an offensive post? What does that mean?
