Fack it eh ! Business as usual.....if there's an extra buck to made , there's a shiester out there waiting for the opportunity to .....stick it to us. And honestly, the dealers have to make a buck ! and that eBay dealer is an idiot !!

Local dealer here has not even ordered one for stock so the salesman I know has told me. They have not had any interest and won't get one for stock. They got stuck when the GTO came out and they had one on the lot for over well over 1 yr.

Even with the last gen, they often went years without selling one. They don't sell Corvette's either, too much cost in tools and parts for no cars sold.

So in reality, other than the special code you get on your window sticker, the Early Order Program was meaningless.

I, as well as many on here I bet, ASSUMED that sold orders would be built before stock orders. If a dealer didn't participate in the Early Order Program then they were SOL until the sold orders were built.

Sold orders may not be 100% cash in GM's pocket but it's a heck of a lot closer than a stock order.

Yes, but GM and the dealerships are looking at the long term sales, not just a few pre-orders. They need a helluva lot more sales to make the Camaro a success, and to keep themselves afloat. The sooner the better, and that takes cars on the lot and in the showroom.

No, it was up to the dealer if they wanted to put in sold pre-orders, or save the allocation for the lot AFTER the sold pre-order program...Like those SASSY EBay sellers, etc etc..
