Well I really do hope you are happy with it. I'd feel bad for recommending it if you weren't.

I tried to make it clear that it might mute the sound just a bit....but its really a choose your poison kind of game with some exhausts. Either go loud (very loud) or go with something slightly muffled....but this is not always the case.

KM, Do you think BSR's set up pre Xpipe is louder than mine?

SIXJAK...yes I do think LTs with the MRTs are likely a bit louder than your setup is....but thats just an educated guess!

If you'll notice in my last post I ended it with "but this is not always the case"...I had your setup in mind. Sure, yours is loud, but not bad unless your actually getting on it....which it sounds like his is that way now with the Res-X installed. Not to mention that with the J-pipes on your setup it really does a good job of keeping the in-cabin drone away.

I would not say I'm unhappy with it. It did fix my main problem without costing an arm and a leg trying different combos.

I appreciate your help!

Jaime,

Have you checked with Tyler on the cost of install and tune?

Not yet, I'm still on the edge to whether or not I wanna go long tubes and void my warranty or just go with shorty headers to keep it safe. It's tempting tho. I want to stop by my dealer and ask if it voids the whole warranty or just the engine. I got the extended and they said it covered every electronic in the car.

I know what you mean. I'm not sure I'm ready to shit on my warranty after 4 months.

May cost a bit but you could always remove the headers before getting warranty work, if needed.

Having the long tube headers doesn't void your warranty, it's the tune. A tune = voided powertrain warranty.

......And a quick flash back to the original tune greatly improves your chance of saving your warranty since their equipment can't seem to tell if it's been tuned and set your ECU back to factory settings before you take it in for service. V8 guys aren't so lucky.....

Good idea to go ahead and keep that EZ Flash cable Trifecta sends to you. 200.00 seems a small price to pay to have this option.

We had a 2011 come in yesterday with these headers. Dude, for $450 they're kick ass. I sell Kooks and Stainless Works all day long which are no comparision quality wise, but dam you can't beat the value of the OBX. Not only are they 304 SS, but they're polished as well- absolutely beautiful.

The connection pipes are exactly like Kooks and SW, and feature a ball flange style connection to the collector which NEVER leak.

The hardware is even nice. The 4 bolts that connect the connection pipe to the collector feature springs which apply constant pressure to the nut on the other end ensuring a tight connection after thousands of heat cycles.

As mentioned before, you will need some 02 extensions. I just extended his with wire, solder and heat shrink. Took me 20 minutes. I extended them 12" and loomed the wires and they work fine.

DO NOT use the supplied, 2-pc graphite dog shit gaskets. GM MLS are THE BEST. When you remove the stock manifolds, take your MLS gaskets and hit them with some steel wool just to clean em up. Throw em back in, good as new.

Fitment was nice as well. Only one primary on the driver side hit the motormount pedestal. I was not concerned, and I am sure after they get hot, they'll "clearance" themselves

All in all, 8 out of 10. We're even considering becoming a vendor.

Yes, obx is nice for what it cost vs others but, unfortunately obx does not make the collector connections as same as the v8 version. They are the slide on style and clamp which sucks and its prone to leak. Its a shame that obx went with this style for the v6 version.
