Doug Thorley catback is with it. Around $500 you cannot beat it.

catbacks usually = 0HP and 0TQ... so no for me.

If you want sound and HP get headers and HF cats... and use the stock mufflers. You will add about 30-35 HP, your car will sound awesome, and you will have spent about the same $$ as you would have on a catback.

If you are worried about the look of the cans... paint them with $5 header spray paint that you get at the auto parts store.

If you are worried about weight, get the cheap magnaflows (11226) that they stock at the exhaust shop.

If you want more sound... you can always get cutouts later.

I really wish I went with Flowmaster, I love my Corsa, but Flowmaster is louder and sounds better, louder the better, right Mike

If you have a local Camaro Club in your town, I would go to some of their meetups and ask some of the guys to hear their exhaust setup. That's what I did when I was contemplating between a muffler delete or an aftermarket exhaust. For me personally, I did not like the sound of the muffler delete. Yes, it was louder than stock, but I still felt there was something missing. After listening to several cars, I decided to go with Borla ATAK. I was happy with my choice. Good luck with your decision!

if you want to spend over $1500 on exhaust, corsa, borla, and stainless works will do great, otherwise the long tubes+x-pipe (same price with 30+ hp gain over exhaust system) will work much better with a set of cut outs. Flowmaster may sound loud, but if it rains a lot where you live, they will rust out on you within a couple years. my buddy has a 2001 ss with slp loudmouth exhaust and resonators. It's loud as hell so the SLP loudmouth 2 wouldn't be a bad choice

Idk, I heard the corsa system on one and I was sold. Will wait till next year to get it, but it sounded amazing.

Basically, after many reads about this topic I'm just not sure if getting an after market catback exhaust is worth the money ($900-1200, either SW or Borla) or if that could go to something else power mod wise. Since there seems to be no apparent performance gains out of them and aftermarket is mainly bought for sound purposes.
We make a full system that runs all the way to the rear mufflers. The benefit to this is that the exhaust stays 3" (including a 3" X-pipe) all the way to the rear muffler where it then reduces to 2.5 to connect to the factory exhaust. With a tune, you can expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 40rwhp depending on the dyno. Also having a full system will continue to benefit you down the road.

Look up BACH here on the forum. He has ARH long tube headers with high flow cats and the factory catback and his sounds good. Little raspy with no drone at all and when he stomps on it it sounds really good.

Since there seems to be no apparent performance gains out of them and aftermarket is mainly bought for sound purposes. Now I know people buy AM to get better sound and to eliminate the mufflers (which I agree are huge and could be weight savers) so would just keeping the OEM exhaust with a possible muffler delete be a better course of action than an AM exhaust. As my sig says I only have a CAI right now and looking to get the headers mentioned above... unsure of supercharger/turbo (that would be at least 1-2 yrs away anyway) maybe a possible mild cam in the near future since it's a DD. Also, my friends who have a TBSS and a 70 chevelle think I should do a safe shot of 100-125 of nitrous(though I don't know much about it). I think my goal is to be somewhere between 450-500rwhp for awhile before I think about SC/TT.

I know that's alot to ponder but just want to here some thoughts from some experts
THANKS
+1 for the header choice. I will give you +2 if you get the Atak Catback

If you're looking for louder, check out our latest video of our new Outlaw Axle-Back with the Outlaw racing mufflers. It's our loudest prodcution system for the 5th gen Camaro coupes and convertibles and it's a better sounding (and performing) system than going with a muffler delete.

I added the Edelbrock Shortie Headers and Flowmaster Full Exhaust cat back bolt on kit. Flow Master 40's at the rear. They totally changed the sound. Really will not know the power gains till I get a tune. Waiting on a cold air intake first. I did the work myself and bought a friends setup that he took off before he traded his Camaro. so I have 600.00 in a full exhaust kit.... Got lucky!!!!
