Vert - Beige or Black Top

I will be ordering my Camaro Vert next week. I can't wait. I was originally set on a beige top, but have seen a couple around town that look worn down (on newer cars).

I have read other posts about 303 product, will this help to keep the beige looking new?

For those of you with beige tops, do you regret it? Would you do it again? Anything I need to be aware of by getting a beige top vs black?

I was debating the same and my wife reminded me of a beige top I had previously. I spent a lot of time trying to keep it clean. Also had a staining problem around the back edges. It probably wasn't the same manufacturer but then again there are only about 4-5 canvas top manufacturers left. I'm glad I went with the black.

Thanks. How much time do you spend keeping up the black top?

Boy that is a tough call, I think black but biege would be my choice if no stripes or gold stripes are going to be invovled. It is always what you chose and your choice alone, Try to get to a big dealer that may have both choices on the lot, good luck. Asked the wife and she says beige.

I was dead-set on buying a SW w. beige top approx. 2-3 weeks before I bought my SW 'vert. SW with beige top looks absolutely gorgeous, IMHO. HOWEVER, someone at work has a white Mustang w. beige top and I remember it looking fantastic. Now I see it and it's dirty. Same goes with a 'Vette I saw earlier in the week before I bought my 'vert. Beige top, looking dirty from weather and age. Honestly, I wouldn't consider purchasing a 'vert with a beige top anymore. Not because black necessarily looks better, you just don't see how dirty and weather-beaten it is. Black will fade over time but, I believe, unless you're keeping your 'vert garaged and willing to put in extra time and elbow-grease in trying to keep your beige top looking new, you'll eventually regret a beige top.

I wash the car and the top once a week. I don't use soap on the top just water and a soft brush. Best thing to do is to get a cleaner and treatment twice a year. The 303 products for canvas tops are the best I have found, but there are others that are good.
I found also that there are detailers that can dye your top if it fades. They didn't want to do my beige top as they were worried how the color would come out.

Taking car of the top is really just keeping it clean, really easy !

beige will be much harder to keep clean and new looking. you can't find a 2 or 3 year old Camaro with a beige top, but look at old Mustangs and Sebrings. Anything other than a black top looks faded and worn after a few years.

that's why I went with a black top.

just my opinion. reasonable people may differ.

I went with the beige top. The car is cooler inside with the light color top. Also went with the beige interior. Seats are not bad when leaving top down in the sun. The real key is that it is a convertible and you should never see the top unless it is raining!!!

Beige just screams old school Chrysler seabring... looks like straight a$$ IMHO.

Little to no upkeep on the black. Spray my 303 and it does the rest. I too have seen some seriously ratty looking beige tops...

I have a beige top and also beige interior. I think the beige top looks great with certain paint colors. I cleaned and treated mine with the 303 cleaner and protectant, and it looks great. I dont know how it will look after a few years but I'm confidant it will look no worse than the black, as each color will have their ups and downs on maintaince. I'd say pick which color looks best to "YOU", and don't worry about if someone else likes your color top or not.
