The SS emlems do not go away, the badges on the exterior will be red instead of chrome. The mail slot is on all SS's and is not on any non-SS's

no if they take off the mail slot and the ss on headrest it means they are downgrading you to a LT/RS

You should be able to get a SS/RS without downgrading.

the SS has white SS emblems
the SS/RS has red SS emblems NOT RS emblems

so what you r saying is all the ss stuff stays and ss turns red but you get all the rs stuff if this is so i need to change and add rs to my (mis quote wifes) 2ss

Yes you need to change it to the RS. All the chrome badging will still be there, just it will be red, and the embedded SS emblems in the seats will be there RS or not. I would guide your salesman to this forum, it sounds like they could use some info!

ordered in a small town dealer. every pic of the rs never has a mail slot atleast the ones i have seen. and the one that have the rs badging on them never shows the seats. i would like to see a 2ss/rs front and inside. has this been posted if so where
