Gov't worker. Regulatory Inspector. I make $31.25 an hour. OT is available, although I rarely work OT. Union member.

Too stupid to work in the IT field.

I run two (soon to be three, and eventually four) small businesses. I'm very glad I learned a while ago not to put all my eggs in one basket. And I have no "boss". and I only work about 25 hours a week. Work to live, not live to work. I'm always looking for new investments and new opportunities. No "working for The Man" for me.

I'm 20 and still finishing my basic but majoring in fire technology and going to fire fighting academy. Fun times. I stick to what i love to do plus it pays good.In high school taking ROC fire fighting my teacher battalion chief hall he told us that he got his trucks for cheap because of his job. Complicated to say lol but just though I'd share that. Plus it will be awesome to save peoples lives and homes.

I worked on the design and functionality for our windshield washer nozzles. We make about 90% of the nozzles for the world out of one building. Just got the Tesla contract !!

OP---if you are serious about considering the military, then good for you! Do some research and figure out which branch offers you what you want in career field along with good incentives to join and/or stay in. Hit the books while you are in and earn a degree that will translate to a real job. Once you have the degree you can become an officer (more money) and either stay in or use the degree on the outside while serving in the reserves (which still has very good pay incentives). My best advice to to stay in active duty until you retire. Trust me...the time will pass by quicker than you think and you will be 40 with a retirement check for the rest of your life and still have a second career left to retire from if you want. Anything medical or computer related is an enuring field that won't run short of jobs anytime soon.

I started my career as a school teacher. I began as a Graphic Arts Teacher in a high school Northwest of chicago. I left teaching after 4 1/2 years to begin a career in the Railroad Industry. I worked my way up from the bottom of the heap.

Through a progression of various positions, I went to work for one of the Regional Rail Carriers back in 1992. In 2001, our company was purchased by one of the larger railroads in North America. I was promoted to a Senior Manager in 2002. I now head up a Department for the Company. It has been a wonderful career. I have been blessed with getting to know many people in our industry and several major customer personnel over the years. (including one Mr. Scott Settlemire - Professionally and Personally!)

During my 35 yeas in the business, I have fulfilled every career goal I set for myself. Within the next couple of years I look forward to retirement.

Through my professional career, I have been able to establish many new ideas and programs for our insustry. I have also been extremely fortunate to have the good fortune to hold many leadership positions in our business as a result.

One thing I have learned is to never give up. Be thankful and to approach every day and every customer with a servant's heart.

I truly believe I have been blessed througout my life. God has given me a wonderful Family, a tremendous Wife and a fulfilling job experience I would not trade for anything.

I always encourage those with whom I work, to be challenged, be confident, be strong, and be persistent. It all leads to success!

Never stop learning.. Even though I'm out of college I'm still doing self study at home after work and on the weekend. The more you know, the more valuable you are to someone/company.
BEST advice ever. I am a firm believer in this thinking.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.
