need advice , stay with stock block or ......

need advice from true learned folks...let me tell you the situation.
I currently have a stock block with a twin rear mount turbo set up. I am doing 9 psi..for about 650 rwhp. I want to go about 15 to 16 pounds of boost. Should I get new forged pistons, rods, and use my heads (which are beefed up with a good cam) or should i buy a good short block and use stock crank. I am really confused on which way to go. My concern is getting the best bang for my buck while achieving the goal. And durability of course is a major concern. I know you fellaz can lead me the right direction

650 is alot for a stock bottom end but its be done time after time i would recomend beefn it up a little but it would probley be ok if you didnt dog it all the time.

The turbos are much of a relaxed fit then a sc set up. I have a good cam, and I dont beat it up at all. I dont drag, and i dont hole shot like most do. I just like raw power from 60-160. I want about 1k hp so I need to know which is the best route. I like to embarrass super cars and exotics

Personally, if you are looking for 1000 HP, RW or at the flywheel, I wouldn't use the stock block with forged internals, or the stock crank... I would have a built short block with the entire internal assembly of forged parts, and the block built/designed to handle that kind of power.... It should be sleeved, either wet sleeved or dry sleeved and fully studded with ARP studs, etc...

60-160 pulls with that kind of power are hard on the components...

HKE is known as one of the best if not the best LSX engine builders in the world for sure. These guys have been building the baddest lsx motors since LS1's were cool. Ask 50 people that has been dealing with LS engines for a long time to give you their top 3 LS engine Builders and HKE will be on every list.

I would not retain the LS3 block or the 4 bolt heads....I'd definitely go with an LSX block for a low buck option or something like an RHS or an ERL block on the high end.

You should plan on probably 10k minimum and then more on the clutch or trans, rear axle, fuel pumps etc that a 18psi build is going to require.

IMHO 16 psi it nothing for a forged ls3 block These ls3 blocks are very strong.

Opinions vary I guess but 4 head bolts per cylinder would worry me at that boost level. There are probably a lot of things you could get away with for a while but I'd rather just do it right the first time.
