Yeah, that is going to be about a 3-1/2-4 hour drive for us from the east coast. We would have to leave early if you guys are already going to be near Skyline Drive on Saturday. But, depends on what time you want to start the drive. For example, if you want to start at 9am, then we would have to leave the east coast by 5am. I don't mind early. What do you guys think- Paul, Jax, Terry, Rob, and others?

I have been watching this thread quite a bit buy have a few questions. When you all talk about starting point do you mean at Front Royal? I would love to come down and do this drive but need to figure out where and what time.

Would 10am work for most people? Thinking we find a place somewhere around Front Royal to get the group together?

If I can make it I think I would drive up on Friday night and stay at my Dads house. He lives in Warrenton about 30mins from Front Royal.

That kinda what we are thinking too...we have friends who live in DC so we have a couple options for places to stay. (Places closer that DE that is)

10am works for me. I would suggest for us to meet at some establishment or gas station(to gas up!) near the entrance to Skyline Drive. It has been a few years, but I think there is steak place, some hotels, and a few gas stations nearby. We just need to agree on an address and let everybody know.

Info. on Skyline - 3 hour drive

Not a bad idea...a gas station may not be the best place depending on how many people want to show up (just may not be a lot of room to park) but Im guessing there has to be a Dunkin Donuts or something like that we could meet up for some coffee and/or breakfast...I would guess in a scenario like that a gas station would be plenty close.

I looked at Google Earth. There is a L'Dees Pancake house(might be crowded), McDonalds, and Burger King for Breakfest & coffee. There is a Shell and Exxon also nearby. It doesn't matter to me which one to meet at. Other suggestions anyone?

Are we stopping for lunch during the drive? Those places in the park are a bit pricey and there is only two I believe. Bring your own picnic lunch? Just throwing ideas out there.

I am good with meeting anywhere in Front Royal. Would need to get something to eat but I can do something light at Front Royal and have supper in Waynesboro. Going to stay the night there anyways.
