could. its like the word "if" by that I mean that by next year we could have an even better engine to put in this thing.

I think the could in his post meant that if it were released soon that it'll have the LSA. I think that if the LSA were in question he would have said
Quote:
but if the hold is lifted it could make it to the 2011 model-year and may be powered by the Supercharged 6.2L LSA V8 with 556 HP
So i think the LSA is more concrete than the production at this point.

Granted those may not even be his words, i do believe he said "AS reported on gminsider news:"

oh, yeah, I firmly believe the LSA will be the Z28 motor of choice. unless things get kicking with the Gen V motors before they decide. DI v8 for the Z28 wouldnt be bad.

Back from the dead...me too.

I love the new positive rumblings of the Z28. I was noting a few things in the Global problem and INDUSTRY WIDE Issue. GM is unfortunately the economy's and Government's poster child of "What is wrong," and "what needs to be done". Enough said. That are a shit ton more companies that are in worse shape. There are a lot of lives attached to GM and therefore the Fed had to step in, not my choice, if I were in charge.

Long story Short. Economy is not about saving the plannet as the dumb administration says. Economy, and you don't have to be an MBA like me to figure this out, watch the Wendy's commercials, is about Supply and Demand. Simple. Beautiful things is the demand has been created, documented, measured, bottom line, it's there. Capital however, is GM's issue The R&D accounts ran low, the marketing ran low, and the cash became life support. Mind you, I said this is industry wide. Nissan will still produce it's GTR, Ford it's Mustang, Dodge it's Challenger. There is still significant demand for all those cars. Even today, if you survey, the people buying cars, Hybrids and Hondas are not the top of the list.

I say, Supply the Demand and you cannot go wrong. My word to GM: restructure, restructure, restructure. Above all, don't sell you soul to the Fed, don't mortgage the futrue to save the present. Build what the people want. When you get some cash, Build the Z28.

DEMAND LIVES HERE!

sounds like what Ford did ... just before things went bad
Build what the people want.
Mostly, they are. But 2 problems: the people don't want to buy, and they don't know GM has what they want.
When you get some cash, Build the Z28.
I believe thats what the general idea is.

Heres something to throw at the group, What happens if GM decides to put the LS9 in the CTS coupe. It will be a Camaro killer. GM will put something in the Camaro to go after the Shelby. We will just have to wait and see. I know I will buy one..

The CTS - V is already a Camaro killer.

FYI

SS = Z27

back in the day the Z28 was a performance package that was added to the SS which before the type LT was a luxury package.

Actually, I don't. The car doesn't need a Z-28 model because A) It'll cost way too damn much for little improvement and B) GM needs to find a way to get out of a possible Chapter 11 scenario with the government breathing down their necks. Let's be honest and sensible with ourselves people. The Camaro is fine the way it is. Be happy with that and stop being greedy. Lucky we're getting an SS that'll live up to the name.

While SS= RPO Z/27, Z/28 was not a Z/27 with added features, that was true in later gens., not true in the first gen. (and I think not true in the second gen.). In the first gen. the Z/28 shared a few things with the SS, but a lot of things were Z/28 specific and there was no such thing as SS-Z/28, it was either one or the other, Z/28 was not "a performance package added to the SS". The first gen. Z/28s came with a 302cid motor that was not available in any other Camaro or any other Chevy, and was not available with auto tranny, convertible, or AC. The SS had several engine choices in the first gen. (but no 302cid) and could be had with auto, AC, and vert.

what i meant was that the Z28 was more of the performance package and the SS was more of the luxury type model.
That's why in the second gens they put away the SS trim and replaced it with the type LT.
I didn't mean to say it was added to the SS.
I may be wrong once again but....... oh well.

What the Heck add was that for? Camaro?... It seems to have elements from a rumorred Firebird but looks mistly like a Camaro. The price and mileage figures don't add up to SS numbers though.

I'm confused.

Clearly a Camaro. Fuel economy and price would be indicative of a supercharged monster.
