So glad we have the constitution..
But.. before I get into politics which I can't...
I think people for the most part should be vocal as long as it does not harm anyone....even if nothing is changed. As to subject matter there are several subjects on the ZL1 which I don't even entertain... so I move on to the next subject..
Per this thread,
to me it is easier for us to discuss the colors and get back on topic.
And the topic is..............
are the colors good enough?

Not really my friend 68 RS. The point is, after being explained to why things are "the law" by such an esteemed Camaro colleauge as fbodfather time and time again, the points as presented as fact by "the law" are argued against without any thought as to what the "law" means solely because the individual wants something beyond that scope and disagrees without merit against the logic supporting "the law". As I see it, this argument continues on without active listening being conducted by those who contnue to vocalize against what Scott has already taken more than enough time to explain about colors. I get your point, and everyone else, but the complain until we get it point I disagree with. In Government and Law we can voice our opinion and make change by voting. Not with car manufacturing. But, our voices collectively do matter I agree. Iin conclusion I would like to ad we are on the same team and think we should pass around Barney and have a big group hug...

In car manufacturing consumers vote with their dollars. If enough consumers voted for ABM paint (bought Camaros with ABM paint), Chevrolet would still offer ABM.

Have to admit though, the color did not get represented well on the website AT ALL! And, IMO, they killed it before it got a chance to be seen. I know I did not see one until after it had stopped production.

You people who don't think the colors could be improved sound more like broken records than those of us who wish to discuss the crappy colors being offered.

Come on get serious, no one can honestly say that beyond the obvious few, these colors are good, and I'm tired of the sales figure arguments cause they don't mean a thing to anyone.

The two colors didcussed WERE ONLY OFFERED FOR A LIMITED TIME therefore the sales numbers mean diddly squat when comparing the relative popularity of the ABM and SGM colors.

Besides as I have said from the beginning, and apparently no one catches on, is that comparing sales numbers is NOT A LEGITIMATE WAY TO COMPARE COLOR POPULARITY.
EG. Give people 10 people 5 crappy colors to pick from and they will all pick a crappy color.

Man...all this is supposed to be is a poll to gauge what people think of the colors, and everyone who is on the low end of the poll is obviously cheezed off about it and since they have no real leg to stand on in their defence, basically tell the rest of us to shut up and accept the crap colors.

I may have to accept the crap colors, but I don't and won't shut up especially when the poll is proving my argument.

I mean really. People are willing to accept Claret as a viable color for a Camaro? My grandpa's 91 olds cutlass was that color, and it didn't look good back then, why would it now. IOM has got to be the muddiest orange ever, The yellow is tired, Charcoal grey was the color of my buddies '82 Camaro..read dated...IBM is..well a Traverse doesn't even look good in IBM. You need white or Chrome on IBM or its just a color that does nothing.

I'm not saying the "color" itself sucks, its the shade, the formulations that suck. I love orange, but a real orange.. a bright grrrrr orange, not a browny dirty kinda orange.
It is ok to continue the blah colors if everyone likes the blah colors, but what this poll is about is FINDING OUT if people like the colors.

I don't expect that GM is going to change the color palette based on my blatherings. I'm just putting out food for thought about the idea that In my opinion, and possibly others opinions some constructive work should be done on spicing or brightening up the colors.

People buy Camaros to stand out, not blend in with Grandma's Camry.

Thank you and good night.

2012 ZL1 - He's not drinkin the Kool Aid!! J/K

I think your post is relevant and well put. Candid, well explained. Not sure if I agree with you, but thanks for the "calmness" and being sincere rather than sarcastic!

I'm not drinkin..not yet anyway..and not kool aid...lol

My thoughts on color are sincere. Which is why I started this tread. I'm not just fishing for an arguments... I feel passionate about colors on cars and thank you for the positive comment, I was expecting to get blasted this morning...

Here is a test for the people who don't understand what I am saying.
Next time you are driving to work,or shopping etc. look around at the cars around you and see if you don't see the sea of blah. When you look subjectively you will see what I mean.

The good thing about free will is you don't have to agree, and that is good too. That is why its a poll and not a statement. That is why I appreciate your honesty htron50.

I welcome different points of view as long as they are based on reality and not "well they know what they are doing" "they have experts" or "sales tell us this or that" as those are not legitimate arguments.
If someone says "The colors can't be bright because the bright additive is outlawed" or "we are scared to try some bright colors" those are arguments I can understand.

Note to future potential posters, if you don't want to listen to my controlled ranting ... please limit your response to voting on the poll and not rehashing lame excuses. saying you agree or not is fine, but no excuses please.

Sorry - but the 'poll' is unscientific.......

I could be 9 years old and vote in the poll. But at 9 years old, I'm not going to buy a ZL1 anytime soon.

I could also be 64 years of age and have never bought a new Camaro in my life - and don't intend to - yet I can still vote in the poll........

So - I would rather talk to people one-on-one and in groups and get feedback - and then take those thoughts and try to mesh it into a color pallette that is doable and can be sequenced into the assembly plant where we build 4 different products - each with its own buyer and buyer preferences......

Once again:

YOU have in your mind what 'great' colors are - and so does everyone else on this site........

THE PROBLEM IS: what YOU may like is a color that 70 percent may hate.....

As I've said over and over again - no matter WHAT 10 colors we pick - it will not make everyone happy.......

Sorry to disappoint you -

Now:

"Trigger"

You

our

colors

We hear you LOUD AND CLEAR......................

And we aren't going to make any changes for the 2012 and 2013 model years............

sorry! Truly I am!
