Am I stuck with a color

I originally ordered IBM. Got a call yesterday that I had to change.
I asked for Crystal Red. Nope also not available.

Dealer stated my care is scheduled to be picked up next week so I need to pick a color or risk losing my spot in line.

According to my dealer, crystal red will not be available for my car by the time it reached production.

Question now is do I give up my spot in line for a color, or accept another color.

Go for what you want, don't let the dealer slide you in a different direction. More than likely it is money motivated on his end. A little wait will be worth it in my opinion. This is also coming from someone who didn't want to wait and see if SGM color was going to be made available in 2011. Wish I had waited FWIW,but dealer put it in my head they were going to do just 2010 and that was going to be it.

Ditto. It seems like it will "take forever" right now...but don't buy a car (especially THIS car...) without getting what you want. If you CAN"T get IBM..then hold out for the Crystal Red. They are trying to make sales for December and end of year...so..unless they knock off $20k for you to buy the color you don't want....I would wait because every time you go to get in it..and see the color..you'll be disappointed!

This isn't the kind of car you just settle for. Get it the way you want it. Even if that means waiting a bit longer. If you're set on IBM then wait for 2013. If you'd be happy with CRT on a 2012 go for it. Either way, the wait would be worth it for me. We've all waited this long and have more wait ahead of us. Get it the way you want it and don't settle. The wait will be worth it.

This is what drives me crazy! They paint these cars different colors one behind another and so on. Then they sell the 69th production ZL1 on a one off color ( for big$$ ).
Now all of the sudden they can't or won't offer this new edition of the Camaro in limited colors. How does this sound like good business? Get on board and offer all the colors for the model year. Especially for the first run when people are ordering them and have been standing in line!

Typical dealer want's you to buy now, now, now! F' them! You will be the one stuck with driving the car/color you buy, not your dealer.

Get a different dealer. This one has their best interests far over yours.

As every one has advised, get what you want, it will be worth the wait. You will probably still have it by summer.

I'd let them bump a different order in front of yours. That is how I got my SS so early at my dealership. If they have someone behind you that has an order that can be accepted, let them jump you. So what if you don't get the first one at your dealership. You will be glad you waited for what you really want over settling for something you could care less about. Just make sure they have enough allocations to allow someone to jump you and you still be able to get your car.
