Who put their own HALOS in from AAC?
Just wondering how many of you actually did this mod yourself. I'm thinking on finally "biting the bullet" on this mod and getting the 2.0 color shift HALO package, but wanted to get peoples "OPINIONS" on how hard the install really is. Also if there are any pointers that might help out "future" installs for people that would be great. Are yours still working well and is there a video for the fog light halos on how to install that one. Thanks everyone in advance.

A friend and me did my 2.0 Halo's I was extremely nervous to do this on my own. I almost returned them actually. The hardest part for me was opening the actual light. The video sent with the lights are great. You can also search the thread here to see them. Other than that my only advice is to check that all the lights on your halo's work prior to starting this. To answer your question mine still work and I love them.
Good luck |

Hubby did ours. Opening the lights wasn't fun, but not impossible. From start to finish it took him about 8 hours to do the halos, fogs, afterburners & led bow tie.

I've done about 8 sets now for customers. One thing that did help me is I bumped the oven temp up about 25 degrees over the recommended setting and the light comes apart way easier.

I am in the middle of doing mine today. I will recommend setting the oven to about 280 and let them sit in there for 30 min. I did my second one at this setting and the lens came off with much less effort than doing the first one at the recommend 220 setting.

I did. I've also installed a few other members halos. It takes me 6.5 hours start to finish (it's those two damn screws at the top of the bumper that take the most time)Quote:

i also followed instructions and found myelf reheatiing 1st light 3-4 times and it was a challenge...2nd light i cooked longer 10 minutes longer and got it open in 5minutes...2nd one was easy...1st is a learning experience...and really have to go deeper in base to get lens out..then expected...it really is deep down in the groove...more then i assume most think when prying them out

I agree about the screws to remove the bumper, if you have big fingers the top screw will be a pain.
