You guys are sold on wheel locks and thats all good but don't think that they can't be overcome! A can of Freon and a impact wrench or chisel/hammer and they are done.

I am the guy this thread is about. I just moved to Houston and I am staying in a corporate apartment until I close on my house in early February. It was a real shock to come out Monday morning and see no wheels. The insurance adjuster came out and said replacing them will run nearly $6,000. I had no idea these were so expensive. Anyway, I am going to rent one of the apartment garages until I can buy a house with a garage here. I have no confidence that they will not be stolen again as soon as I get it fixed. There was one other camaro in the apartment complex. It is a V6 and she also had her tires stolen the same night. Thanks for all you kind words. It definently hurts to see my pride and joy look this way.

And this is why GM needs to start including this option on ever vehicle.

OR you could hold them at gunpoint until the cops got there but then they will be looking for payback once they get out of jail (30-45 minutes later probably )

I almost want to go back to the old laws where you lose a hand for stealing.
I agree punishment is not enough today! But old laws never were in effect in this country to lose a hand if you stole! Those are Islamic laws not American Laws! In Alaska we shoot first then ask questions later!

Well I hate to hear it. We could see your passion for you car and your analogy of family is pretty true.

Hope it all works out for you.

The expense is the wheels, tires, sensors and mounting, balancing and pairing. 6k actually sounds a tad high still but not too much.

Ask for a check and get you some aftermarket wheels and locks.

That just sucks. Pretty sad someone would do this. Hope you're back on the road soon!

It's been a while since I've seen that one. Freakin' hilarious.

LOL....we just had one of the coldest days of the winter this AM. Got down to 29. But, that's okay because it's supposed to be in the mid-60s by tomorrow and mid-70s by the weekend.

It's this time of the year why we put up with the blistering heat in the summer. I would rather have blistering heat than blistering cold.

Welcome to Houston.

Sounds like this is a good time to get some custom wheels, assuming the insurance company will just write you a check...

Welcome to Houston!

But then it looks like the WELCOME WAGON has already been to your place...

Sorry, Couldn't resist!

If your insurance company settles for 6K, I suggest running not walking to the nearest wheel shop and getting some COOL aftermarkets, then depositing the rest in your "mod account"! ..
Make sure to join H-Town Camaros or Houston Performance Driving, Lots of good runs and car shows around town

You should have called the Police. Unfortunately, property crimes such as this are hard to solve…and, frankly, are not a priority. I’ve been there…it’s very frustrating. Sorry it happened to you.
